Default Rear Sway Bar Problem

ok I have the Hotchkis lowering and sway bar kit off of kilertc.com, for some reason the rear sway bar is not staying connected... i have had them connected now four times...

I have bought new nuts to go on, thinking that maybe the others were stripped...not the case...

Its pretty much the link to connect to the sway bar is not lond enough i believe so it is sitting at a weird angle and cannot get fully tightened...

Anybody else have his problem... if not anyone know how i can get this fixed????

I think dezod was selling different endlinks if I remember correctly. Try a search!

You should be able to build a set of adjustable endlinks out of the mcmaster carr catalog for about $60 as well.

But, check to see if you cross threaded the endlink stud. If so, that is keeping them from threading down all the way. If they are threading all the way on, and coming loose, it sounds like they are not torqued tight enough. You can also use some lock tite on the threads, but use only the blue kind, not the red.

i have used lock tite and torqued them as well they just spin... its like its not letting it go any further... i think that what Dezod has for sale... would work like a champ for it... it looks like it would...

You need to hold the stud with an allen wrench. That will keep it from spinning. Then tighten it down.

Looks like they arent tightened all the way, which is why they make all the noise. Like I said, look on the end of the stud. There is a place to stick an allen wrench in and hold it so you can tighten the nut all the way down.

The shop wouldnt install a front sway bar? What kind of shop is that??? It is more involved, since you need to lower the subframe a bit (but not remove it), but nothing crazy.

It looks to me like the sway bar may not be centered correctly. When we put mine on I had the same problem. Does the left side go on easier than the other? If so try moving it to the right some. That should do it.

I am still wondering if she ever got an allen wrench to hold them so she could tighten them... if not, they will never be tightened correctly.

have you tried rotating either the endlinks or the entire bar untill they line up i know its a pain to do but that could be all it needs just alittle rotation. From the pictures it just seems like the bar isnt lined up right with the endlinks which would require unbolting the bar and rotating it till they line up neatly.
