SCCA approved roll bar prototype, donor car in So Cal needed
I just made arrangements to have Autopower in San Diego CA build roll bars for our cars. I just need somebody in the area that is interested in a good deal that can spare their car to prototype it in. We can work out the details with them once we find somebody insterested.
NOTICE: You do not have to get the race approved bar if they use your car to prototype the unit, you can get a street bar instead, etc
They build SCCA bars and full cages for many cars and are quite good and reasonably priced as well. They will build street models as well as others. I need one of the removable brace and seat belt harness bars for our needs.
I would let them us our car but just not possible and will be 1,100 miles from them shortly as moving further north and do not have the time to take it there.
Anybody interested let me know an I will assist in the arrangments to get you in, they can take it on just about any time, sooner the better of course
Thanks,
Rick

I arranged just for a roll bar, I will have to see if they want to develop a cage now as well, I can call them in the morning and find out.
If so they could mock up a roll bar then just make the changes to make a cage then they would have it all on file, sounds good to me, hope it does to them as well
Thanks!

I just got off the phone with Autopower and they would design the cage and roll bar at the same time
The roll bar can have a fixed angle brace(the one on the main hoop) and fixed harness tube(for your race harnesses) and other variations.
They will also build one with a removable brace and harness tube, perfect for a street driven car than needs to keep the back seat like we do

The cage will not be available with removeable braces or harness tubes due to SCCA rules. The door bars can be removable though. A cage will make using the back seat not very probable.
All Race bars and all cages are SCCA approved, they will not build a cage that is not, period.
All bars are DOM which is a very strong and resonable weight material, I asked about Chromoly and there is no weight savings since the bars have to be of spec wall thickness and diameter.
The average weight for a roll bar is 60 lbs and a cage is 120 lbs, exact numbers depend on options and the car fitment of course.
ALL CAGES are designed to keep the full interior intact

Yes
But I would do the cage first, then the audio.
Give me a call tomorrow around 10AM
(530)340-0501 and we can talk this over a bit
Let me know which audio shop, I know most of the owners down there.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I will be doing a bit of background research on anyone wanting to do this to ensure I send them a reliable owners car that will be there when needed and represented appropriately afterwards. I have several interested parties I will be talking to before making a decision.
Thanks,

Those interested, please call me but not until next week, they cannot take a car in for the next two weeks and I am in the middle of moving. I will go over some details and we can figure out who is going to be the lucky or is that unlucky, lol, just messing with you, one to get the first roll cage or bar
Thanks,
Rick
