Self-Installed TRD springs-will they void my shock warr??
Well I'm getting the TRD(yeh conservative i know) springs 4 Xmas and I'm thinking bout installing them myself.... i have some experience and my friends have the equipment to do it..BUT if we install the springs will they void my warranty for the stock shocks?? and if the dealer installed them would they be fine??
any help would be just grand...thanx

Do them yourself and save some major bucks.... if you have any specific questions, just ask... after reading the how-to though...
The rear struts are the toughest part, as you need to get them lined up perfect.

shocks are covered under warranty, i spoke with 3 different dealerships.... they are covered under 3 year, 36,000 mile.. i argued that they wear wear and tear, but they told me no, and that they were indeed covered.. fyi.. and yes.. lowering yourself would void it.. unless you lied and said a dealer did it.

10 Bucks says the dealer would refuse warranty work on shocks.... how could they know you didn't run them through a gravel pit at 80 MPH, toasting them...
But, if your shocks ever failed, just buy the TRD strut set... and put them in...
I'm not the most objective, since my warrenty is blown to kingdom come...

yeah its a tough call, i was thinking i wanted to do it myself too...forking over 400+ to have them do something im perfectly capable of is stupid.
It could go either way, if another part of the susp fails because of it, you would not be covered. but how often does that happen with trd parts?
