I had trd springs installed around three months ago (~3,500 miles). I didnt go with the trd shocks, just kept the stock ones on. Everything was fine with it, no sounds at all. However, a week or so ago, every time I would go over a steep speedbump, even at slow speeds, I would hear a clanklike sound coming from the front left wheelwell area. Is it possible that the spring just popped out of place, or the shocks are out?

no difference during driving, just an annoying sound from the front left wheel well on hard speedbumps.

 

Push down hard on each of the 4 corners of your car. If a corner keeps bouncing and does not sit back into place after pushing down on it then yer shock is most likely blown.

 

I'd tighten the large nut at the top of the strut tower - it might be loose and that might be what's making the noise.

 

I have a slightly similar problem but mine is the driver's side rear making a clanking sound when I make left turns. Tighten the nuts?

 

First thing to do is to tighten all the nuts... but if it's clanking, i'd take off the wheel and check to make sure everything's tight/connected in the back..

 

If they are blown, I will sell you a set.

Tighten the bolts on your upper strut assembly.

 

if your car rides like this then your struts are out

I had the same exact problem - twice. Both times it was a loose bolt so try checking that first, like krdshrk said.

 

i'm having that problem with the rear but it sound like "popping" noise. is that the sound of a blown out shock or something else?

well i'm having some problems with my tc as well. i have all OEM shocks and Springs nothing changed, but when my car sits for a while and i go to drive it i hear this rubbing or clanking sound at the rear of my car where the wheels are anyone know what it could be? plz Help...

 

Try tightening the bolts?

 

Check yer sway bar too! Make sure its tight.

 

if you use the parking brake it could be from when you disengage it, mine does this and its a stock 07'
