Default Should I get TRD Lowering Springs?

Hello all,

Should I get the TRD Lowering Springs? If I do get the TRD Lowering Springs, I'm definitely getting the Performance Shock Set, Front Strut Bar, and Battery Tie Down Bar with it. I have a question 'bout it because I'm afraid the ride would be a bit more bumpy if I lower it. Knowing I'm getting all those things if I do lower my car, would the feel of the ride feel more bumpy? Please HELP ME OUT on my decision on whether I should or shouldn't lower my car on the next purchase.

Thanks in Advance,
Tim

We can't make this decision for you. It's your choice if you want it lowered or not. I don't see why you would have to get the other things if you got the TRD Springs. I can see shock set, but the battery tie down bar? That has nothing to do with anything.

I have the TRD lowering springs and the ride is still nice. Its a little stiffer and ever so slightly more bumpy. Your ride quality won't suffer much. I love it. I doubt you will need shocks or struts with just a 1 inch drop. You should be fine. Unless you just want to get those things. But, if you are getting them just out of fear of the TRD messing up your struts or shocks don't waste your money. The TRD springs won't compromise any of that.

I asked to help me decide, not decide for me. I'm just asking for the feel and if it'll dramatically change the feel of the drive. Since SuperSonicSound kindly explained how it'll be, I wont mind the slight change of feel and most likely add the TRD stuff to the purchase.

Thanks a bunch,
Tim

the stock ride is waaayyy too soft for me. i really dont like it. it feels too soft and wobbley; theres a lot of body roll. my old eclipse gst felt a lot more planted. i dont like it when the ride is too smooth; i want to actually feel the road beneath me. not to the point that it breaks my back, but i'd like to make some connection. i've heard they arent that much stiffer, but it'll be enough for me. i will have my springs in within a week or so.

NICE, are you getting Shocks with yours too? How would Shocks affect the ride by the way? And the special oil filter and air filter... How do all those affect the car? Sorry, I'm a complete newb once it comes to cars.

i have the TRD springs.. pretty nice ride.. nice drop too.. not too drastic.. people who don't know tC's couldn't tell if the cars dropped or not. but if you want to get a noticable drop.. Stechs are the way to go. but i like my trd's :-)

Just want a drop that'll fill in that empty gap between the car and wheels. I'm just wondering what the Shock Set, Air Filter, and Oil Filter do? How do they affect the perfomance of the car. Please explain so that any person can understand what they each do.

The drop is great. Ride is great. You wont regret it. I don't have the struts/shocks.

Assuming you're the only one in the car... When you go over speed bumps or dips, do you have to sort of drive around it? I see a lot of cars slow down and drive around them... Is that what I have to do once I lower my tC?

if the drop is what it's supposed to be (1 inch), then after the drop, it will still be higher than my old eclipse. i scraped it here and there on some steep parking lot entrances, but ive got into the habit of driving them at an angle so as not to scrape. its not too hard to get used to.

So as long as I'm cautious, my tC will stay pretty. Sounds good to me.

If you want your car to handle better, you should. Don't forget to get a rear sway bar.

See if you can hook up with a tC owner in your area who has the suspension setup you're looking at. If they're nice they might let you take their car for a spin or at least let you ride along. That would give you a better idea as to whether or not it is worth it to you.

I'm selling off this car, but the installation is for the 06 Nautical one coming in next month. I'll take your guys word on the TRD Springs, sounds good so far.

Once I get the tC I'll have the TRD Springs installed with the Front Strut Bar and TRD Performance Shock. So how would the rear sway bar help me out?

I'll get the TRD Lowering Springs, TRD Performance Shock, & Front Strut Bar so that my ride would be better. I'm just curious what the Rear Sway Bar does... Sorry, I'm totally new once it comes to cars. And what 'bout the Oil Filter and Air Filter? How will they affect my car? Please assist me with those questions.

Thanks in Advance,
Tim

What's the difference between "Hotchkis Lowering Springs" and the "TRD Lowering Springs". The descriptions in the TRD site look the same to me, is one better than the other? Or are they both two different things?

And can I combine the Front Strut Bar with them?

Thanks,
Tim
