Default slotted and drilled rotors

im in the market to get a set fro the front and back of my 05 TC. just wanted to know the pros and cons. i have heard that some drilled rotors are just for looks and prone to cracking. any truth in that. i rather have it last me then to look good for a short period of time. im also referring to non ebay brand items.
im definitly going to pick up the set from MICE here on SL but cant decide if i want the drilled ones or just slotted.
ooh yea... i will be putting in the SS lines for the front .thanks in advance for all feed backs

I have Stoptech's slotted and drilled rotors on my car.... love em.

IMO, i wouldn't worry about slotted and/or drilled rotors cracking unless their either 1.) very cheap or 2.) under A LOT of stress from excessive track use.... but even still

i jsut got r1concept drilled/slotted rotors for looks. and i agree with King about worrying about cracking. i worried at first but its more so like he said if they are cheap or if doing a ton of hard braking after driving really fast alot.

It all depends on the internal design of the rotor, which most everyone here usually fails to consider, or are simply unaware of.

The three most common types of internal rotor construction are "pillar", "straight" and "curved", pertaining specifically to the vanes that join the two rotor halves.

It's fine for any of the three types to be slotted when done correctly, no issue.

It's NOT good for pillar vane rotors to be drilled, as they're MUCH more likely to crack than the other two types. If I were going to buy drilled rotors, I wouldn't consider any that use pillar vane construction.

There's plenty of info on this topic around the 'net, including pics & diagrams of all three types, for anyone who might be interested in learning more.

I have "Dimpled and Slotted" rotors painted with a black zinc coating from rotorpros.com...

These are great and considerably less than the other brands. Rich is a good guy and I highly recommend them!
Somebody on here told me that he has an ebay shop. I didn't know this. I ordered mine off the site.
