Default So I finally took my car in for an alignment

So when I bought my car at 40k it was going off to the right side of the road, not extremely...but it just tilts to the right slowly.

So the guy at Allen's said my right lower controller arm is bend..so my right wheel was pushed back by a little compare to the left, but you just can't see the bend on the controller arm (what he said)

anyone had problem like this? I found the part for $50-100 buck..I mean for once I'd actually like a car that'd drive straight.

So he just aligned it to the best he can without getting the tires worned out..

Well the controller arm is pretty big and thick

it could be bend by where the bolt is at but its hard to tell.

my friend works at the dealer and tells me that all new cars have a slight tilt to the right when driving straight so you drive off the road if you fall asleep instead into oncoming traffic. plus it could be the crown of the road to where its tilted so water can drain when its raining.

That sounds pretty strange- bent enough to throw the car out of alignment, but not enough to see the bend in the arm?

Did he say if he maxed out the adjustments on the tie rods?

I dont know, I tossed away the print out for it
my steering wheel is like slightly turned most of the time while driving straight, like slightly slight turned to the right a little bit.

but whatever...lol

The alignment tech didn't do his job if your steering wheel isn't centered when driving straight.

It's your car though, sounds like it doesn't bother you much.

I think i have the same problem. A while back while there was snow on the ground, lets just say i had way too much fun with a curb. popped my front right tire and had a new one put on blah blah blah. so then i go to firestone to get it re-aligned, and he said there was something bent but he couldn't really tell what it was. my camber was off, I dunno. He suggested getting a new setup from the junkyard cause the dealers haven't come out with a replacement yet, but he sounded kinda retarded so i left. He said its just gunna wear that tire out faster. Put on lowering sorings yesterday and was just in teh shop this morning to allign it and they said the same thing.

dont think any of that helps huh?
sorry

ATTENTION.. you can read a bent lower control arm by the CASTER alignment reading number. That will tell you if it is truly bent or not.

Yep, just had mine in for an alignment. It must have been in a minor accident before I owned it but the lower control arm is bent just ever so slightly. Tore my front right tire to the damn metal spikes. Wonder if its under warranty at toyota.
