Default Spring Suggestions?

So I just got 18in wheels and now my car is on SUPER 4x4 status. I want to get some springs but I am having trouble finding exactly what I'm looking for. I'm hoping you guys can help me out finding springs that fit my situation:

1. I will be on stock shocks/struts
2. I live in Chicago, and don't want to ruin my back in my daily driver
3. Don't want to spend too much more than $250
4. A lot of people like the car to be low. I just want to get rid of the ugly gap I've got now, and increase performance - Here comes my fancy diagram:
Name: wheelwelldiagram.jpg
Views: 33
Size: 649.3 KB
I do NOT want the look of the set up on the left. I want the distance between wheel well and wheel to be consistant all around - as in the set up on the right.
5. The raked look is OK as long as it's not a ridiculous amount.

I've been looking at TRD, H-Techs, and maybe Hotchkis - though they are probably going to be too low.

Thanks for the help guys - This also marks my first thread on this forum, and I didn't bother to search cause I figured this was specific enough to not have been asked before - or at least be too hard to find in a search.

I've been digging through that thread for about a day and a half alreardy. It's next to impossible to find the answer to my specific question in 99 pages of replies, and although the pictures are helpful, many people in that thread i've noticed just put up a pic without labeling it for which springs they're on.

I figured it'd be less time consuming and more reliable to simply post a new thread asking exactly what I want and hope that some of the more experienced members here would help me out.

trd's look pretty good on 18's if you don't want to totally close the gap. If you are really concerned about ride quality, hotchkis springs might not be a good idea. I had them and liked them, but they sagged in the back and the linear spring rate made bumpy roads a bit harsh. If you just want to close the gap a bit, I'd recommend either trd or htech as I've used both. I personally didn't care too much for htechs, but its a comfortable ride with a moderate drop...

Thanks rob, yea it looks like i'll likely be going with the TRD's. I've been looking at those since I got the car. For a while I thought they wouldn't be low enough but I think it's exactly what I want.

Cool. None of these springs will really ruin your back unless the roads suck. Trd is probably a good bet as they are fine on stock shocks/struts for quite a while. Another set which would fit your criteria is h&r sport springs. Not too big of a drop and I believe they are a progressive spring rate. Also, you won't be wishing you were just a bit lower in a month...

TRD springs don't give an even drop, the rear is lower.

Go with the TRD. They look nice and the drop is about perfect for a daily driver.
