Struts Going Out..?
Let me start it off like this, i am lowered on hotchkis springs with stock struts, and i also have the hotchkis sways, stock 17" rims.
So, my driver side rear strut seems to be close to giving out, i hear a clunking whenever i go over a bump, and its getting worse everday.. and if i push down on the car, the left side rear drops way lower then the right rear.. i have 54k miles on the car and about 30-35k since being lowered on the hotchkis springs.. i dont track the car, but i do drive very aggressive daily, and occasionally i hit the twisties for some fun.. =)..
Instead of buying new struts, i wanna get adjustable coilovers, i mean if i gotta give my money away, i might as well upgrade right? lol.
Now what coilovers to get is the question, id like personal experience feed back, ect..
I really want the Tein SSP with edfc, but thats pretty damn expensive.
Anyone have feedback on the Tein Basics? Megan? BC Racing?

how low do you want to go? if you wanna slam then b&g's or bc's but if you are looking for a moderate drop then just go with any other coils but try to get something that has independent height adjustment so you don't screw up the preload.
well im dropped on the hotchkis springs right now, so lower than i am now but im not sure exactly how low i want to go.. and what do you mean with independent height adjustment so i don't screw up the preload?
My buddy had them before me, road on them for about a year and a half, 30 or so thousand miles. I was on them for 10k miles and about 6 months. Never had a problem. Drove them on an off ramp hard quite a bit, and over some big pot holes. Never had a problem.
Based on being race proven, KW for coil overs, or Koni inserts F and their shocks R and leave things alone.
I've used Koni Yellows for years of daily driving and autocross.
Don't upgrade your fronts without the rears.
If you drop your car more than 2", you sacrifice function. Just so you know. I heard this from a guy with at least 2 national championships under his belt...
Also, both he and I use stock front sway bars. Your car will turn better that way.

Ok i'll research on those.. But can you explain why you use the stock front sway bar rather than the hotchkis?

Bigger isn't always better.... the biggest determinant of how sway bars will affect under/oversteer is the ratio of the effective spring rates of the front and rear bars. Bigger difference = bigger effect.
