Suggestions on Sway Bar/Suspension Setup
Hello all, I just purchased a 2008 tC and was looking to install some stuff on it. I've already done some research here on the forums on what I should get, but still not too sure. What I am looking to do first is the sway bar set up, then the suspension at a later time.
From what I've read the Hotchkis Sway Bar combo is a good combo to get, since they are the only one who make a front and rear sway bar set (and I've read on the issues of using just the rear sway and such), but I was also just looking at the TRD rear sway bar alone. I'm not going to be using this as any track car or anything, mainly as DD and for some fun, I may do autocross when it comes around next season, but still not sure about that. Any suggestion on what I should get? Would the rear sway from TRD on the race setting be enough to help with body roll in very hard turns, for example, in things like autocross or should I just go with the Hotchkis set?
Also, I didn't really do much research on suspension (I know I should but honestly, I am lost with it), any suggestions on what kit I should get or if I should just go through the dealer and have them set it up?
Thanks in advance for any info.

IMHO go with Hotchkis front and rear. It will reduce body sway the most especially you just mentioned that the car will see AutoX events.
Rear bars are sold simply because it's a step up from stock and it's easier to installa rear bar. Front bars may a bit more labor intensive.
Always try to get the best stuff you can afford that way you don't re-do the same work over again at a later time.

From what I've read, using the Hotchkis rear sway bar alone can cause oversteer issues on hard turns and that it should only be put on with the complete set. With the TRD one though, I haven't heard (or read) any problems, even on the race setting.
Thanks for the info, great community btw.

Any large rear bar only modification will cause more oversteer. Rear end rotation is something that FWD cars desperately need on a race track For a street setup, a mild rear bar set on the softest setting is still quite safe.
