Default Suspension Upgrade

Got my car last night... but have to take it back early next week for all the parts I ordered.

Stock handling.. dare I say.. is pitiful. (for a sport coupe - above avg for a regular car)

Being installed on Monday/Tuesday is: Front Strut Brace, TRD Springs, TRD Shocks, and the TRD Rear Sway.

Does anyone have this combo - is the handling improved enough that I will think my car can handle great cornering?

Is there anything else on the market right now that I can do?

hotchkis has all that, less the struts but add a front sway bar. look at parts review section or just read some of the other threads in this section there is alot of info. the thread titled "better than stock" has alot. sorry i don't know how to link to it.

OK, here is what I would reccommend as far as the suspension. TRD springs and struts, unless you want to pay more and go for coilovers. In my opinion, ditch the TRD rear sway, and go for the hotchkis set. Not only do you get a front sway bar aswell, but they are waaaayyyy stiffer than the TRD. Then for looks do what I did and get the DC strut bar. I dont think it really does much, but it looks tight.

considering i know about my girl's tC, you can get better pars than those, for cheaper (are those from the dealer?)...however,

ive heard that, you're combination of trd parts is good, and will create a significant improvement for you; and keep it under warranty.

well first thing, this car is NOT a sports car regardless of what the marketing department calls it. it is a top heavy, fwd 16k coupe with a twitchy rear end. if you want the ultimate handling talk to 'oldman'. basically:

stiff linear rate (trds are progressive) stock height front springs. rear springs lower than stock. this will help the rear end from unloading a little under hard braking or lift throttle cornering (which is generally a bad idea anyway). rebound adjustable shocks (not out yet save tein full coilovers). once you get the springs/shocks dialed in right you can add as much antisway as you want realizing that that will lower your ultimate cornering grip.

so cancel the strut brace and springs (strut towers are stiff enough stock).

what you can do straight away is replace the tires if they are the potenza RE92's they are total rubbish or at least set the pressures to 40 front 46 rear cold. That helped a lot for me.
