Default Sway Bar Set Debate

So I'm definetly getting a front/rear set for sway bars, but I'm not sure which ones to go with. I like the hotchkis, have heard good things, but also some recent breakage? What about the other ones like Eibach and Progress?

Also I called my local show they said they would do install for ~80. From what i have heard its worth it?

Front and rear would be Hotchkis, Suspension Techniques, or maybe Eibach. They would be the only ones that make a front bar (or a set for that matter).

Just about everyone that has done both has gone Hotchkis - but whatever you do - do NOT mix and match. They are designed to work together.

Have to ask though... why do you need both? For most "spirited" drivers, a rear bar will do wonders and there's no reason at all to go with both. Even Dan Gardner's race tC only runs an aftermarket rear bar (last I knew).

As for the install... $80 would be good... but they might change their pricing when they go to do the front bar - it's a PITA.

Think it was Eibach, found it just randomly looking around.

I can get the hotchkis $285 plus shipping, sound good?

I just want to (try) to improve handling on the car more. I mean in WV, there is no such thing as a straight stretch really, with the exception of the local drag strip.

That price is probably good. I haven't looked in a while - but TRDsparks was usually one of the best prices.

What kind of suspension do you have right now?

I bought the hotchkis f/r set and its awesome. 80 bucks for installation is DAMN CHEAP. Usually they charge about 80 an hour, and for f/r sways, the rear takes about 30 mins, but the front can take up to 3-4 hours.

3-4 hours? if it really takes a shop 3-4hours to install that front sway with proper tools, something is wrong.

me and my buddy did in it his garage with one jack, a couple jackstands and hand tools in about 2 hours.

it really isnt that big of a pain in the ___. id much rather install another sway up front then fiddle with the rear struts or the drum brakes on the rear of my jeep.

Thats the worst part about SL. just now its different people since the majority of us old guys apparently fell off the face of the earth.

I'm just looking for documented evidence of why racelands are worse then other brands. DOCUMENTED.

Im not trolling this thread, im only stating the truth. Racelands cost less to make then your stock struts. You do the math and tell me if you think a 200 dollar suspension is going to be better quality then stocks. I just hope you dont have the same purchasing concept when you buy your wife her wedding ring.

I dont think you understand what I said. Look in order for a company to produce product X, they need to pay the fix cost and then the variable cost to make that product X. How much money do you think Raceland actually invested to make one coilover setup? How much do you think quality material cost? You really think they invested 2/3 of the msrp to create this coilover to get a flimsy profit?

Maybe he doesn't need a better quality suspension? Maybe he just needs an adjustable suspension that will last him a few years on his daily driver? Almost everything I've read about those coilovers (and raceland in general) suggests that they are perfect for that application.

PS. You are trolling.

PPS. So am I.
