that makes no sense. tc's have coil-over suspension stock. it just isn't adjustible.

lowering springs and shocks work fine, the only advantage coil-overs have is the adjustible dampening.

First off, technically we HAVE coilovers stock. A coilover is simply a spring over strut setup to be purist about it.

Most people these days, however, refer to coilovers as adjustable units (although some arent). And really, if you arent going to tune it precisely, then you are wasting your money on them. If you do want to use all that tuning, then I would go with Tein SS-P's, which seem to be a great setup on the tC. When I change from TRD I will probably go that route to corner balance and tune the car for autox a little better. If you dont want to tune them or adjust them, then just buy some good springs at the height you want, like hotchkis or trd.

But you still have springs and shocks with either setup.

1000, tein basics then or H&R, if you go tein SS or SSP or HKS hypermax you need about 200 bucks more but they're fully adjustable..

For $1000? H&R.

For $1000 I recommend H&R. They only have height adjustments and can be corner balanced, however, to get the maximum benefit you should install harder suspension bushings (i.e. urethane) if you plan on corner balancing no matter what coilovers you choose. There is no such thing as a "fully adjustable" coilover for the tC and none of them offer independent compression and rebound adjustments which is the proper way to precisely tune a suspension; the damper adjustments offered on some tC adjustable coilovers are mostly marketing gimmicks.

$975 at www.allsprings.com (H&R distributor), and the H&R rear sway bar is available their as well.

I haven't had it done yet (waiting for Energy Suspension bushings), but I'm probably going to have it done at Tri-Point Engineering. It's across the street from the shop I work with, plus they tune winning SPEED World Challenge race cars... I think they know what they're doing.

They are useful as long as you understand what you are adjusting, why, and how it affects the handling. Some adjustable coilovers simultaneously adjust compression and rebound, while others have a preset compression but adjustable rebound; many people don't realize that and adjust away thinking they are making their handling better while making it worse... basically, they fall victim to marketing hype.

Now that sounds more clear. And thats so true it makes no sense at all buying an expensive adjustable coilover without knowing the use.
