Default tein ssp height adjustment

I would like to go lower with my setup but when i loose the second spring seat lock and try to turn the first one which is touching the spring the main shock rod is turning with it. Is is safe cause from what i read in the manual the rod should not turn. Do i need to compress the spring every time i'm changing the height??

uhhh haven't seen the directions well.. but i assume the main body? cause that turning with the ring... means the ring isn't gonna go up and down at all.. (and sorta impossible)..

uhh... gonna have to look over that again.
