Default Think my driver side front shock is going out

I cant remember the distinct sound shocks make when theyre done. kinda like a creaking when you go over bumps. My car has 30k miles on it, should my shocks already be due for a change?

no never this early, unless maybe you upgraded springs without upgrading the shocks...but even then im not sure the time in that scenario.....

but they should be fine...the cold weather sometimes causes shock to creak. the rubber bumpers/seals/bushings/etc....

the spring gives resistance as the car goes down and the shock give resistance going back up (so your car doesnt bounce and lose traction when going over bumps/dips)..

one way to test is to push that corner of the car down and see if you hear a swooshing sound(that would be a good sign) and see if it comes back up immediately(bad sign)..it should have a lil bit of a delay...be careful where you push down though...maybe pop the hood and push on the strut tower......this test may be hard to do on a car since the other 3 struts could take the load...

overall, see if rides different.....they should not be worn out at 30k.
