Default TRD Coilovers TC for another car.

So, i've noticed that the only TRD coilovers that is not for trucks is for a TC. Now, i was wondering since they are just coilovers if they would fit on a Scion Xd? There's so many discontinued parts for the Xd that is impossible it seems to have a 100% TRD build with it so before going to other brands i was wondering about the TRD coilovers for the TC. Please help.

yeah, hard to tell. Well, I won't give up looking for those TRD springs for the Xd. If anyone is selling them or knows anyone that is selling them I'm interested.

Are you looking for just the TRD springs or the full coilovers kit? Because the TRD coilovers are over $1500. That's damn expensive. I have just the TRD springs with KYB struts/shocks on my tC. Personally I wouldn't spend that kind of money on my own tC for coilovers. If anything I would put that money towards an air suspension which I've wanted to do. But don't have the room for it because of my audio system, wanting to keep my spare tire and also still have some trunk space.

Are there no other reputable suspension companies that make a good coilover kit for the xD? Instead of trying to mickey mouse in a kit designed for the tC.

My primary goal is the TRD springs for the Scion Xd PTR11-52081 but given how those are impossible to find I can go for the TC coilovers. Now, we are not sure if I can fit TC coilovers in an Xd though. Yes, there are companies that make coilovers for every car out there but my infatuation os to have a TRD build because that's what I set out to do.

Even if the tC coilovers were to fit, I'm guessing they'd ride horribly given the difference in weights of the cars (600-ish lbs.)...don't know why you're hung-up on TRD coilovers but I think I'd let that dream die.

I'd also be willing to bet the TRDs are re-branded coilovers from someone else.

I'm sure of that too. I'm not crazy about the TRD coilovers but i am crazy about those TRD springs. The coilovers was a good runner up that i thought of after the ongoing search for the Scion TRD springs resulted in zero luck.

The TRD coilovers are rebranded. It was posted in another thread that they are from Progress Technology. So we are paying more for the TRD name. lol

My TRD springs are most likely from them as well. The only reason I got them was because their drop wasn't as low as my Eibach springs. Which was causing my front lip to scrape bad on my driveway entrance. And I couldn't find another brand that didn't have a severe drop. The TRDs drop less than an inch in front which was fine for what I needed. It still scrapes a little but not as bad as when the Eibachs were on.

Yeah, TRD is a rebranded product but they are specifically manufactured for each vehicle that they come out for hence my obsession with them.. But anyway, i'm not spending another week looking for those springs. i have decided to go with coilovers for now. If i ever come across them later on then i will get them.

From this old classifieds thread it sounds like the Toyota Yaris TRD springs would fit the xD. You might have better luck looking for the Yaris TRD springs. My friend has a 2008 Yaris Sedan which is most likely the model year and class you'd need to search for. Since the xD started in 2008 and only had one generation. There are a lot more Yaris sedans out there than xDs. They probably share the same chassis.

I thought about as well and they do share the same chasis. The weight difference between them is 300 lbs though. Yes, I know I'm being very **** but hey that's the I set out to do this, im very particular when it comes t the little details. Anyway, the toyota vehicle that weights Almost the same as the Xd is the Prius C but guess what? They don't make TRD parts for it.

I think the Yaris TRD springs are as close as you're going to get for the xD regardless of that small weight difference.

Trying to get tC TRD springs in there is really a whole 'nother world and not known to be compatible.

There were other threads on here discussing the xD lowering springs having the same part number as the Yaris lowering springs from other aftermarket companies. After having received the lowering springs for the xD. The box saying Yaris on it. I'd Google those Yaris TRD springs and check them on the dealer sites. It might just show they're compatible with the xD model as well.

I'll do more research on those. Maybe I can find some info about them that reveals the very specific specs that Toyota doesn't tell us. I also started researching coilovers, I have a thread on them so if i don't find anything by the end of the week then I'm going with coilovers until hopefully later when i come accross the TRD springs.
