TRD or Ksport Coilovers?
Well I am looking to upgrade my suspension and I have made the decision to go with coilovers instead of a spring upgrade. The biggest reason is because of the strut issue. By the time I buy struts and springs I may as well have gone with coilovers which may be a little more pricey but I believe offer alot more benefits as opposed to struts/springs.
The question I have now is what brand to go with. I am looking for dampning, camber adjustability I am not really sure what all this rebound stuff is so if someone could fill me in that would be great. I have done some reading around here and I have pretty much counted out Tein because of some of the things I have heard. I have never heard anything bad about Ksport or TRD coilovers. I can get Ksport discounted through sponsors but would somewhat prefer TRD because I have heard that they provide the handling upgrades but come with a much more comfortable ride. Also I prefer the warranty aspect, not that I would have a problem with Ksports reliability but who knows. I currently have hotchkis sways that I will install when I get down there to install coilovers, I also have a DC strut bar. Thanks for the help.

I have considered tein but I have heard the ride is pretty rough. If you have some better idea please let me know. I am all ears. I like trd because of the warranty and the fact that it's trd. Let me know what you think about that. Thanks
*Edit
I see that the trd coilovers do not have pillowball joints so I will probably not be getting those. Can anyone suggest any other brand that offers a comfortable ride?

Second, "damper adjustments" on many popular adjustable coilovers are a fun gimmick, but if you don't know what you're adjusting and why, it's another wasted feature. Yeah, it's going to feel good in a straight line, but your adjustments could adversely affect handling in emergency situations.
Third, if you're looking for a comfortable ride, adjustable coilovers probably aren't a good idea; they are for performance, not cruising. If you absolutely must have coilovers and still want a comfortable ride, then you'll want to take another look at the TRD coilovers... or better yet, the original Progress coilovers that the TRD coilovers are based on, and they are less expensive.
-- If you want comfort AND performance: Progress, TRD, H&R
-- If you want to damper adjustibilty and camber plates: KSport, TEIN SS
-- My best advice: just stick with strut and springs since you probably won't adjust anything if you install coilovers.
I want coilovers because of adjustable ride height 2fast. I see where you are coming from. I don't really want anything suffering from adding coilovers so I suppose I will take another look at trd coilovers.... Any other advice?
compare the spring rates of the coilovers, get the ones with lower ones.. H&R, HKS hypermax and trd (progress) have lower spring rates that tein.. but I also heard you can have custom springs on tein coilovers
Tein SS and Ksport Kontrol are pretty much the same +/- a few differences.
Tein SS 16 levels of adjusting
Ksport 36 levels of adjusting
Tein SS made from Steel
Ksport made from Aluminum
Both have 1 year warranty
Both are going to give you a much stiffer ride compared to stock. The best bet would be to go to a scion show or meet and take a drive with someone who has each. Then you have to make the choice on which one suits your needs

You can't put an entry level coilover and a track only set up in the same category.
