you dont cut the bump stop as the springs and struts are made to work together....only cut stops if TRD or other springs go on stock struts

Words cannot express really. I thought I loved my car before but damn, the TRD strut + spring combo and enkei 18s make this car amazing. Taking off ramp turns with signs that say 35mph @ 65mph + and feeling completley in control is unreal.

My only complaint on my suspension setup is my tires surprisingly. I thought the M&S version of the P zero Nero's would be a lil better in wet conditions. But then again you have to consider that this is week 3 of my first manual car and Im coming from an ultra conservative auto 93' audi a6.

I was gonna get the Hotchkis rear sway bar, but I heard that it was too stiff. I'm not saying it is, but check to see if that's what you want. The magazine I read it in said that the tail was a little to eager to come out in hard turns.

just me $0.02. I think im gonna stick with TRD. :D

TRD struts do not come with any bump stops. so you are forced to cut the stock bump stops when using TRD struts on ANY springs, other than stock. The reason is that the bump stops are the correct length for stock struts/springs setup. Using a shorter (TRD) strut, with a shorter (lowered) spring and the stock bump stops would make the new struts ride within 1/4 inch or so of the bump stops. Trust me when I say that it woudl be bad to have only 1/4 inch of suspension travel. At the same time, not using bump stops would be bad, because there would be nothing to prevent your struts from bottoming out.

So, in answer to the other person's post (probably too late to help), I used a carpet knife to start the incision, and then used a set of tin snips to cut them. Since the TRD drop is about 1.5" inches off of stock (after settling), I cut just under 1.5 inches off the stock bump stops.

Hope this helps anyone in the future.

Heh, thanks for the reply thats exactly what we ended up doing. Luckily my friend and I did the install at a lexus dealership on the weekend so we polled about 4 master technicians and they all said cut it in half so I have about 1.75 inches of foam on it, rides and performs great!
