Default trd shocks and springs... can they be pre assembled?

just wonderng because when i lowered my older accord, it was a very painful process taking everything off and leaving it on jack stands while i wait for meinekie to swap the springs for, then put it all back on hours later... anyways i plan on buying the shocks as well, i was wondering if anyone knew if i can pre-install the springs on the shocks, or do i have to wait and take parts off the old coilovers to make them work.... it sure would be nice if they could be, that way the second i take the old ones of i can put the new ones on anybody do this or know?

Not possible unless you can buy the hats from a dealership. You have to use those from the OEM kit.

I was in your position a while back when I bought my TRD's. I was actually suprised that McGeorge's didn't and wouldn't sell their combo kits with the springs premounted on the struts/shocks. I found out later on that the parts guys didn't know too much about the tC's suspenion and thought it was like the xB's where the car held everything together. Kind of stupid if you ask me, I think they would sell more if they offered premounted kits where the customer just had to remove a few bolts and put new stuff on....just a crazy though.

how much would the hats be?
maybe it would be a good idea if someone who knew the people from sparks or georges personally could get in touch with them to see if they could do that and how much? deffinately interested, id have to pay to get them swaped out anyway, but would be a lot more of a hassle. oh oh, I GOT IT..
maybe a core cost? like send back your old hats and whatever else they need? it would be productive recycling! lol

it would be much cheaper and easier to rent a spring compressor from your local auto parts store. I was able to do the rears on mine without a compressor, but the front were required with the TRD shocks. If you do springs only you can do the whole car without a compressor.

could you expand on the compressor process?
and if you wouldnt mind what do you use/need from the oem coilover? i wold like to cut meinekie out of the loop, he charged me 20 buck a coilover to swap the springs. if their is a previes post on the process off the strut/spring install diy, please direct me. or else maybe someone that has done this themselves expand on the process of removing the top bolt, getting the old coilovers apart, and what bolts and parts you need to get the new combo working. that would be splendid so i can tackle this project with no ifs... thanks in advance.

As mentioned above, there are certain parts from the stock suspension that you need which is why you must disassemble the stock suspsension. For more information on swapping the suspension, check out the links below.

The struts and springs you will definitly need a compressor.

I installed my trd struts/shocks, springs, and sway bars myself with the Ol'school spring compressors. AND IT WAS 105 Degrees outside. Needless to say it wasn't a great time.

You have to compress the springs pretty far to get em on the struts.
