TRD is widely called TRD Sportivo outside of the US market. It's a great price, considering what dealer price is-- about $600 for the shocks and $400 for the springs.

Hmmm, very interesting . I say go for it!

Actualy hold that thought. Why don't you ask the vender for a part number and confirm it with TRD. You can never be to careful with purchases on the internet.

http://trdparts.jp/english/parts_sportivo.html
trd japan's info site about sportivo parts.
if youre hardcore JDM, here's the japanese language site.

i guess since TRD USA (which is not a part of TRD Japan) made a suspension kit, no need to release the sportivo line.

The info on the kit says that it is a one-of item and was made in Japan for the Sportivo line for the tC but not brought into the US. Sounds plausible but I would have to do research on it.

Umm..ya...did we all forget that the TC does not exist in the Japanese market? So that of course means there is no JDM parts(Japenese Domestic Market)
The chance I would say of a Sportivo part being made for the TC sound pretty low and somewhat fishy.

Because those look like they're for an xA.
I just went up and opened a box of tC shocks and they're red and the box doesn't say TRD Sportivo on the side. However the xA box does and they're blue. So i would bet those are xA struts/shocks.

Perhaps you did not read the auction text?

This auction is for a complete suspension upgrade set for a Scion Tc. This set includes 4 TRD Sportivo springs and 4 Sportivo performance shock absorbers. The springs lower approximately 1 inch all around. These items are a one of a kind set that was prototyped by TRD japan and sent to the US for test fitting purposes. Front springs rate is approximately 200 lb/in. Rear spring rate is approximately 470 lb/in. These are not the same sport springs and shocks sold in the U.S. market. Don’t miss out on these rare items for your Scion Tc.

Wait where did you get 1.8" from? It says approx. 1". 1.8 would be nice.

A buyer asked the seller this question

Q: What is the TRD Japan part number? And if prototype, how did you get a hold of it?
Jul-28-05
A: Part number for the springs are 48130-ST400. The Shocks are 48030-ST401. They are the JDM Caldina turbo suspension set, which is the exact same platform as the Tc. This set was sent to TRD USA for test fitting purposes, which it fit perfectly. I am posting these items for a friend.

Can anyone shed light on this. Is the Caldina really the same platform as the tC?

Yes, the Caldina, tC and Avensis all share the same platform and suspension. The Allion and Premio also share the platform, but in a more modified form with a substantially changed rear suspension.

More info here.
