TRD Springs & Rear Swaybar Installed!!!!!!!
I just finished taking off the S-Techs that I've had on my tC for 2 years and installed the TRD Springs and Rear Swaybar. WOW!!!!!!, It rides 10X smoother and the best thing off all my 19's don't rub on dips anymore. It carves corners instead of swaying way over when I turn hard......Overall I'm 99% satisfied.......The only thing I don't like is that the front sits higher than the rear.......

Yea, the TRD has a much better ride quality than the s-techs. I think the some people like the s-techs because they are lower and some people like that (I don't), but anything lower than a trd or even a hotchkis drop is counterproductive to the handling of the car.
Did you install the rear sway on the race setting? (the inner hole)

Any of the rear sways would be great for most people.
ack154, while I can't dispute that no, it's not necessary, neither are any of these modifications. To drive to work and back, alas, a stock Tc does just fine. You put the TRD goodies on to go around corners like a madman, and from that mindset I recommend, to get the full experience of going around corners as madly as possible, the front sway bar is a must. Don't knock it till you've tried it. 10,000 auto crossers can't be wrong!
sweet!
nice to know the trds can sport 19s without rubbing.
which setting did you use on the sway?
I found that the race setting was too much for my tastes. It kind of lifts the front of the car a bit thus losing "to the floor" power. it also had a lot of oversteering for my tastes. the race setting also makes the ride harsher in the rear.
I switched to the street setting and I like that much better. :D
i might have to try out the race setting again if I ever get new shocks and strut bar.

definately there will be a difference
anyhow, the street setting will be very close to stock, so if you like the race setting right now more than what you had before, than youll probably like race setting better.

But I'm actually still surprised that Hotchkis is the only one with a front bar. I think some Suspension Techniques company was going to make a front/rear set too... but I haven't seen much info on them in quite some time. Not to mention to lack of a market for shorter end links (with the exception of the ones included with the Progress bar and the Camry ones some people have tried).
thats good to hear cuz i just ordered the trd springs and rear sway... the lower you go the crappier the ride so thats y i went trd its the happy height not low but not hight. cant wait going in tomorrow was the rear sway hard???just wonderin wat im in for
nope, it was easy, rear sway took my like 10 minutes to swap out
did the front first cuz its easy, swapped sway, then i tackled the rear, this was my 4th time swapping springs and the rear is always a l3itch!!!
then i tackled the rear last

hmmm gotcha whats the hardest part for the rear just the interior crap? im tryin to see if i can do them tomorrow after work in the hour and a half i have till the shop closes i do strut tops on camarys all the time and thats pretty much what you do for swapin springs in a since of compressin and takin strut out etc...i jus havent dont a tc rear...the sway i can do another day if need be i just dont wanna get the front done and have a half hour for the back lol
livin I think you've got it backwards. There are 4 bolts and two trim pieces to do the rear; for the front, you have to dissassemble and lower the entire front assembly, and then still only have enough room for midget hands to spend 3 hours trying to feed the old bar out the wheel well and the new bar in through the wheel well. Misery.
well, for me the front is easy, i just hate taking out my system, carpet, spare, foam compartments and interior panels out of the rear just to get to those 3 little nuts on each side then lining up the rear strut is a l3itch too...but thats just my opinion
all i installed was the trd springs and rear swaybar

it's been 11 days and they still have not settled all the way yet............ right now the front is a lil higher than the rear.....but i'm guessing it's gonna stay like that
i guess in a week or two i'll get an alignment then snap some pics and post
