Unfortunately, springs/struts are incredibly expensive to have installed. If you have even the smallest ability to do it yourself, then do it. If not, find a friend, find somebody who is willing to help you. It is just too expensive to have it done at the dealer or even the local guys. Plus, you will learn a great deal about your car. Come on bro, YOU CAN DO IT!

Default My experience with local guy TRD parts installation.

I had my TRD shocks, springs, and rsb installed 4 months ago by a local guy for $200. I thought it was a good deal. I am not mechanically hands-on and don't have access to a garage. A week ago, I heard excessive popping noise on the right side when I go over the slightest bumps, and I thought, Puck! My struts are gone! Dealer looked at it and claimed the local guy didn't do it right, his lousy job even ruined the assembly seats. The parts are all covered, but the labor costed me $500+128 for the alignment in central Jersey. On and on, my lesson cost me $200.

It really depends on your luck, you could have save a decent amount of dough, but may or may not have to worry about it later.

I got the TRD springs and shocks installed for $150 at a local shop. The guy who did it seemed really knowledgable about that stuff. It seemed like he did it a lot, so I was comfortable with it. As soon as I told him what kind of car I had he quickly said "$150, that is a pretty easy install." His wife even has a tC so that even put my mind at ease because he probably knows the car pretty well. They couldn't do the alignment so I paid 75 for that somewhere else.

I got quoted $300 for TRD springs AND install at Bob Rohrman Lafayette, IN. I didn't ask about the price of TRD springs+ struts +install though. I ended up putting my springs on with a friend. Worked out great.

man, i hope the dealers around me dont charge 500 bucks to put on my springs... do you still keep warranty intact if it's installed by a local shop, or does it have to be dealer?

^^^^ if not installed y dealer parts still carry a 12 month or 12k mile warranty. Go to trdsparks.com for more info.
