I just received my TRD swaybar today and I can't wait to have it installed.

Is the trd solid as compared to stock, or are they both the same just a different size? Also, for a DD - should I put it in "street" or "race"?

Please let me know.

 

It is a little beefier than the stock, and it will give you a noticeable difference. I put mine on the track setting. I don't know how much difference there is between that and street though.

 

go race. Street isnt much different from stock.


After I installed my sway bar, I took it right for a spin taking hard turns. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Made my tires squeak like no tomorrow. Thats how I know it was working.


The trd bar is a few millimeters thicker than stock but those few millimeters means everything

 

will a 05 trd rear sway fit a 08?

 

This is maybe asking too much (just curious) whats the stock size in mm vs trds?

 

yes, all suspension components fits 05-08 tC's the only thing that change is the MAF and ECU pin out from 05-06/07-08.

It seems to work with all models so far.

 

not too sure, but i know that the auto tranny has a 2mm thicker stock sway bar than the manual tranny. i think auto is like 21 and manual is 19.

 

Guess cause autos are heavier, or does it have to do with the torque aspect?

i got mine from here for 100 and it came today and it said its for a 05 tc so i was thinking i got screwed! THANK GOD!

 

put it on race setting! street setting is pointless

 

This is even more nuts - I called to make appointment to have it installed (had to go for a free oil change anyway) and the lady was like - "whats a sway bar". So I called again and spoke to another person down there they were like no problem...

 

^ install it yourself and save $, takes half an hour at most and its pretty cake, just 6 bolts.

 

I really want to, but without a heated garage I think my hands would be numb/cold in 30 degree weather

TRD sway bars are made by Hotchkis? Just read that somewhere...

def not made by hotchkis. and using the street setting on the trd bar is stupid. might as well not even go thru the trouble to put it on if youre gonna do that.

 

If I remember correctly the TRD is somewhere around 24mm, while the stock is 20-21mm? I could be wrong...

I just ordered mine and can't wait to get it on the car.
