Default TRD vs. Eibach springs...in need of help

The next mod that im doing to my tC is lowering springs. I am torn between TRD and Eibach. I want the TRD because I've seen plenty of pics of tC's with TRD springs and its a nice drop and they are also covered under the warrenty that came with the car. However, my friend highly suggests Eibach because he says it is the perfect springs for the smoothest ride...im not looking for performence springs and a drastic drop. All I want is about a 1.20 to 1.5 drop and a ride that is as smooth as silk because I know with lowering springs you feel bumps in the road a lot easier than stock springs. Any advice as to what I should get? and also, if anyone has a pic of a tC dropped with Eibach springs....please post...i have yet to find a decent pic of a tC dropped with Eibach to give me a good perspective as how the tire fills in the gap.

Its rumored and is very likely that Eibach makes the TRD springs. They are very similar in the amount of drop and both have progressive rates that will keep the ride nice and smooth. Im getting the TRDs with the TRD rear bar from McGeorgeparts.com for 275 shipped, which is only about $50 more than the Eibach springs by themselves.

I have a friend with a FM tC with the toyota 18's body kit with TRDs and it looks perfect to me. Its low but not on the ground with a nice ride and good handling.

I still think they are both different because they are both listed as having different drop levels.

they are made by eibach, but a different series of springs, which is why trd is a less drop. once you add the trd springs to you car (if you do) the rise is a little bumpier, not harsh, and you can tell the differance in body roll when taking turns.... its a good feeling.... you goann wanna hung them turns after the install!

Was up yall, To best help you with your choice I have installed TRD springs then TIEN springs and then EIBACH springs on my Xb. Personaly I like the Eibach springs the best. If you wana keep the waranty then stay with TRD it wont give you the best ride and slam of the car but there ok. The Tien springs will lower the car lower than the TRD springs and will have a smoother ride but they can be alittle bouncy. Now EIbach springs have a sweet drop if you want to go low, they will slam your car, they ride very smooth and are not bouncy. They may coast more but are worth it! Hope this helps your decision.

The TRD & Eibach springs/Tanabe NF210's are more for people who don't want too much of a drop, yet still maintain the comfort of the ride. In my opinion, it depends on where you live, and how often you see potholes, speedbumps, angled surfaces. Being that I live in the relative suburbs, I had no problem getting the Tanabe DF210's and don't regret it one bit. But in your case, i'd go with the Eibach springs for their known reputation for comfort despite the price tag.

Hey nodnarb i see you're from Spartanburg we're located Myrtle Beach. I don't see alot of guys from SC here. We've got the TRD springs and the rear sway as well. If you ever come to the beach you should stop by Sparks Toyota and say hi.
