Question What to do????

O.K. I have already used the search tab before asking this....

I have a 05' TC with 97K on it and I am thinking of lowering it. now I am toying with Eibach/Tein Lowering Springs or Raceland Coilovers.

If I go with the springs should I go ahead and replace the Stuts/Shocks since there is already 97K on them? If I do, that will end up costing more than the Raceland Coilovers. So, would the Racelands be the better choice?

Thanks everyone

I don't think Racelands are ever the "better" option. Of course if you only daily drive your tC and don't beat on it, they might be fine for you and you might not have any issues ever... but if you want any actual performance out of them, don't bother.

So I guess the question is... what are you going for? Just looks? Do you want better handling? Ever autox or do any track stuff?

how low are you planning on going, yea at 97k miles if your going to lower it and get just springs then i would get shocks and struts also, theres mixed opions on raceland coilovers, actually theres a whole thread on people's experience with them,

well are you planning tein h or s techs, eibach are pretty good also.....

its what your trying to achieve, performance or looks, how low and your budget,

Question

Really it's for looks on a daily driver, but of course I want to go to the mountains and wrap around corners. I am wanting around 2" drop front/back. What are the best Shocks/Struts to go with if I get Eibach sport-lines? thanks guys!

tokico strut with tein stech, best bang for your buck, puts you just under 600 for both, and i believe theres a member on here with that exact same set-up for sale...and its not me, i think he was asking like 400 for both

located in Sterling,Va

So just getting regular OEM Shocks/Struts and then adding lowering springs won't be good?

Murphy's Law who is selling the springs/struts?

Thanks guys

if your planning on doing all that, then youll need something to ajust the height, which means coilovers, but for a DD and stuff eibach springs are nice,i was thinking about getting them, i currently have the teins h techs with oem shocks and struts,if i get aftermarket shocks and struts ill lower the car a little bit more, but in your case with 97k miles shocks and struts are goona need to be replace eventually so might as well do everything at once,if you had low milage and just wanted the lower look then just springs wil be good

i'm happy with my s techs on stock shocks. if you decide to go with springs, you should replace the shocks. try to find some used ones with low miles in the FS section or spend the money for aftermarket. if this is mainly a DD then coilovers will be overkill. s techs on stock shocks or adjustable shocks will be plenty. throw in some sway bars and you'll be golden.
