Default What kind of brake pads should I get.

Its that time already. 16,000 miles and brake pads need to be changed already. Those babys of mine are squeeling. There not scraping my rotors yet thank god. What kind of brake pads do you think I should get. I want something that has good life expectancy, low dust, quiet and will help my stopping power on the highway from like 135 down to 0 if needed. lol. Thanks

holy smokes dude, 16 k and you already need new pads? my first set last me until nearly 35 k. you need to take it easy and learn how to brake more gradually.

why not get a stoptech stage I brake set. it includes new pads, stainless steel front and rear brake lines, and dot4 brake fluid. they also have a stageII kit that has all those items in it, plus slotted front and rear rotors.

so in closing, you gotta pay more attention to what your doing because if your going through brake pads that quickly, it is time to analyze your driving behavior.

I'm changing my pads this weekend and i'm going with Centric PosiQuiet Ceramic. Extremely Low Dust And Extremly High Pad Life.

They were recommended to me by Erik @ StopTech Brakes. We'll also be adding SS Brake Lines and Valvoline Synthetic brake fluid.

Just because they make noise in no way means they need changed. The pads used nowadays can start squealing at any time.. and sometimes it is hard to make it go away. Take them off and inspect them before going and changing them. New pads at 16k means you are definitely doing something wrong unless you spend every weekend on a track. 30 - 40k is more like it for front pads.

I put the axxis deluxe plus on mine at about 32k or so I think. Still had plenty of life on the stock pads, but I was wanting something a little more aggressive so I swapped them early.

I drove about 50k on the last set of pads in my saturn. Granted, it is a MUCH lighter car than the tC, but I cant see the stockers on the tC not going 40,000 under normal, proper driving.

if its only squealing, my car does that too. took it to the dealer and they said its from glazing. they said its not a problem at all. i would say take it to the dealer first since its still under warranty, i believe they will check it at no cost.
