Wilwood at my door today, 12.9 slotted rotors, 4 piston...
Why only sloted rotors and four piston calipers? Because that is what is best for what we are doing with the car
Mike at Wilwood helped me decide what the best system was for our street driven, soon to be very fast, autocrossed alot, track day car would need and would hold up under all conditions properly.
This is the stock tC system with sloted rotors instead of plain or drilled, the brake pads were selected for the intended use as well, I forget which ones right now, too tired to look in the box. We are going to use their EXP 600+ brake fluid and of course SS lines. We still need to get some rear lines made up.
These are really going to fill out the front wheels, Enkei RPF1 17x8, actually a very close fit, closer than some 16" designs I have seen.
We may install them tomorrow or wait a couple of days until done with other projects and start pulling the tranny for the LSD, flywheel, clutch, motor mount, front Hotchkis sway bar install we are doing, all the parts are finally here.
After this the car will be completed for handling and braking.
Except the second set of RPF1 wheels for slicks all around

I can hardly wait for the turbo now!!!!

Retail is around $1,500 or so I believe.
They are a sponsor for our project car, partial that is, great deal for us. We have mostly partial sponsors because we prefer it, no contracts but we do what we say we will, race, shows, audio comps, etc
I spent 20 years in the US Navy, I do not sign contract where people tell me where to go, when to be there and I do not work for anyone but myself now, had far to many bosses in my life including two ex wifes, lol!

There is a guy from Vancouver WA that had a set on Ebay for around $1,100 but with plain rotors, $100 more for slotted or drilled, still alot of money and few people really "need" them, most just want them
For us it was a bit of both;)
For alot less you could put on some powerslot or similar rotors, some good pads and paint the calipers, looks great, does the job. Somewhere in the middle of the price range is the big rotor kit.
Our last project car had an SSBC dual piston kit and I was very happy with them except just a little bit to aggresive initial bite while trying to left foot and threshold brake at the same time. For everything else they were just fine.
The Wilwoods will have a more linear operation making driving at the limit while keeping the turbo spooled a much leas daunting task.
I worked alot with the AF during my career, even went on a low level B52 flight through the mountains in Southern Idaho
It was a very very very low level flight, not really supposed to say just how low, quite entertaining to say the least.

Phantom Grip. I have had very good experience with them in the past in my turbo Matrix, installed a couple of others, one turbo car, one SC, never an issue with them and their customer service has been top notch.
They are a small company and sometimes hard to get ahold of on the phone but the actual service has been outstanding.
The reason I have said some of these things is whenever I mention them I usually see at one naysayer posting some horror story he heard through some Honda forum where some guy blew his tranny when he used a unit that did not fit.... That comes out when I ask for some sort of substantiated proof, same old story, never once a real case of a problem that I have known of so I like to stand up for them

Is it an actual lsd unit? or is it just an lsd insert?
Phantom grip for whatever reason stopped producing them for dsm's.
If it is a real lsd, is it a viscous unit? How often do you have to change out the fluid if it is? 1 way, 1.5 way, or 2 way lsd?
Sorry for so many questions...just really curious, and interested if the price is right.
I'm sure quaife will be making one for a tC in the not too distant future.
