write up ?
any one ever think of a write up for lowering springs for the tC ? what is all required to do it on your own. how hard is it, and about how long does it take. installed my short shifter in about an hour and a half so car knowledge is about average i guess.
Depending on the spring compressor you get or have or use, the rears are tough to get the compressor on and off. There's an older thread here I posted almost 2 yrs ago about an absolute nightmare of a time doing the rears.
My suggestion would be to call around to the local shops and see how much they'd charge to ONLY swap the spring on the strut assembly. After you find a reasonable place ($50-75 is normal) put the car up on stands. Take out all of the strut assemblies. Have a friend take you and them to the shop and have them swap the springs and put the assemblies back together. Then take them home and reinstall into your car that is still on stands waiting for your return.
Trust me on that one...

Did my coilovers last night and it was such a pita. To get the rear strut out you need to move the control arm down enough to jimmy out the strut. But please be extremly careful when doing springs. I almost broke a couple fingers when the front spring shot out cause i didnt pay attention. But go to club-tc.com for another tutorial.
What i dont understand is why take the spring off the strut? If your lowering you might as well put new struts on.....plus blown shocks are never fun lol

Well it would be ideal to replace the strut as well... but sometimes that's just not feasible.
Not to mention a LOT of people are running on stock struts without issue for quite a while. I'm on something like 30-35k miles with Hotchkis springs and stock struts. No problems so far. Though I do kind of expect to have to replace them in the not so distant future.

well if your doing shocks and struts your going to need to take off the original spring to get to the bump stop. Also there are a few rubber stoppers that need to be switched to the new setup.
A 3 inch drop would require new struts (And would ruin handling on the tC... 1.5" - 2" max should be ideal). But on the TRDs you can run stock just fine. I have about 25,000 on stock struts after the TRD springs went on and it is fine.
yea getting my tein s techs this week sometime. my girlfriends dad owns a shop, but he is always busy and all his lifts are always in use. ill need his help too i bet. i remember he did my integra back when i had it, replaced all springs shocks and struts he was ____ed at me for like a week cuz he didnt charge me a damn thing and spent like a day doing it.
