16s are lighter and cheaper. They would perform better than 18s I would think...

I threw some 18s on with stechs and am happy, but 16s might seem a little small.. I dont think it would look rediculous but it might look a little different..

I think that the 17" rims on a lowered tc is already borderline small.

18"s seem to be the ideal size to fit the look of the tc.

Im somewhat in the same boat as you. but I didnt get the spec package. I just want to pick up some inexpensive black rims and reuse the stock tires.

alot of times the rims with thicker lips or polshied lips seem to be the tire look even smaller than they really are. but the rims with the spokes running all the way to the edge, gives the illusion of larger wheels.

you might want to take that into consideration when picking out your rims.

also if you go with 16s, id stay away from rims with a polished lip and spokes that sink in around the edges. otherwise theyd make your tires look like 10" wheels.

Default rims

check out my profile...its h-techs..as for performance. i perfer 16 or 17 because i too had the spec and used my friends 17 stockies and i felt that there was less of torque while shiftin from 1st to 2nd...my opinion though...

I know im gonna loose torque for sure, that sucks but i guess the looks succeed the speed.. amazingly in my case lol.

If you want to get rid of your 16" steelies let me know... I'm looking for some cheap track rims/tires.

16"s are perfect for track use on the tC... and will get a bit faster 0-60 than a base tC with 17"s don't forget better ride comfort!

Just don't forget the little drop to make it look perfect...

lol at the 16 foot rims....

But as for the performance, normally, its lighter, and can help rotational mass (as long as the diameter of the rim+tire is smaller then stock). As for looks, idk on a tC. Could look pretty goofy if not done right,
