Red face 17x9 +42

EYYYYY!!! Im a new member and have some questions...

Will 17x9 +42 fit my Scion tC?
What size tires would I need?
Scion tC bolt circle is 5/100 right?

And can someone explain to me what flushed and tucked fitment means?

Thanks fellas!

1.yes
2.225/40/17 would be good
3.yeah

tucked is tucked in the wheel well
flush is flush with the fender/body (you need to modify your fenders)

you will be tucked with those rims, but if you got 20mm front/25mm rear spacers, it would be pretty flush.

what look are you going after?

try to go with another offset if you dont wanna run spacer like a +25-30 for the back and +30-35 for the front you can get lower offsets then that but you need alot of fender work to not rub on ____ up your fenders. or you can run, what socal09tc said a 20mm spacer for the fron and about 25 for the back

you might have some inner rubbing up front on such a wide wheel with high offset on full lock (full turn left or right)

you wont be flush, but it will look much better then stock wheel fitment

So are you guys saying that running 17x8.5 +44 with 255 tires will most likely rub on the inner wall when turned left or right all the way ?

What kind of fender work r u talking about? Just rolling the fenders, remove those plastic clips, and cut the liner a little bit?

Cause I'm rubbing in the front right now, and I'm not sure what to do with the fender. For the rears, I'm just gonna roll it up!

I dont think that drop on that wheel spec would be a prob. If it is then i think it would be alittle on the corner of the wheel liner. The side that runs with the edge of the fender.

So if I get a 2 inch drop and get those 17x9 +42 rims it'll be fine? 235/45/17 tires...or 17x8 +48 and 215/45/17 tires...

The lower the number the further out they go when the number is postive (+40 is more tucked than +20). But I would suggest a a lower offset for sure. If you go 17x8 (which i have with a +42 offset which is tucked) run at least 225 cause 215 just dont seem wide enough to me. I think the 17x9 would be good but you should run a low offset to look good and you will probably need to roll the fenders with a 2" drop.
