18x7.5 and hotchkis drop (tC) - will et35 rub?
will a 35 rub on that setup? i really dont wanna get a 45, it'd just stick in too much. i would much prefer the 35, but i cant have any rubbing. btw, enkei evo5 if that affects anything (i doubt it does). opinions asap plz!!
you shouldn't, depends on the tires you run on, i have 18x7.5 +40 with 225/40/18 and i don't rub, im on hotchkis as well, i'm changing it out to 18x8 front 18x9 rear soon, i'll let you know if i rub, but with just 18x7.5 you should be fine
k...anyone running a 7.5" +35 or something extremely close, on hotchkis? im lookin for someone who's running it to let me know what they think, but chances are ill end up getting it then. i normally dont have passengers in the car either, so no extra weight.
It seems like it rubs hitting a little dip going fast and what not in the front. It is really tight. I might have to roll the fenders or something. The rear seems fine. I got the Enkei EVO 5 too. If I were to do it again, I wouldve got the +45 wheels. These wheels look a lot better than my old 18s which had a +48 offset, but those would NEVER rub.
ok so heres my .02 cents... I have 18x7.5 +35 Offset TSW Thruxtons finally settled on some Hotchkis Springs (these really look more like a fat s-tech drop)... well heres how the story goes:
1st Week: Looked Great, No rubbing nor Scraping. I didn't even have to do an S-shaped turn into speed bumps.
2nd Week: Got my Alignment done. Only rubbing when I went over 70+ on little highway bumps.
3rd Week: Finally settled. I can barely fit my index finger into the gap. Looks sick as hell but the driver's side wheel keeps on severly scraping when I turn right & Ever little bump I go over when I drive on CA highways (70+) I get a minor scrape.
Conclusion: Looks great, but if I had to do it all over again. Hotchkis would DEFINATELY not be my choice. Next week I am changing it to H-techs... wutta waste of time and $$$

roll your fenders, yeah you probably wont have any room to work with if you dont jack up the car. and dude to be honest with you, h tech's aren't gonna be very different, if at all. their drops are almost identical. i would go with something like eibach's prokit, trd, or h&r's sport kit. there's a lot of options...check here... https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=89766 . also, if that's a driver's side wheel thats rubbin, h-tech's will drop it .2 inches more than hotchkis does, so prolly not a good choice. before you go out and buy a new set of springs based on the lowering rate, check the dampening rate and reputation. hotchkis has a rep for being sporty, solid, and planted. to the exact contrary, h-tech's have a rep for being extremely spongy and bouncy. read up before you go make an impulse buy. but id roll that fender up if i were you. hotchkis is the way to go.
