Default 18x8.5 40mm offset G-games

I got a deal on G-games 2piece 77wolf 18x8.5 with a 40mm offset with Falkens 235/40/18 for 1472 shipped. Will this fit for my tc if i have Hotchkis springs?

I'm thinking MAYBE some rubbing in the rear. Not sure about the front. There should be someone with a similar setup though that can say something...

you will rub in the rear for sure. I have 18x8 with 40mm offset with hotchkis drop and i had SEVERE rubbing with 225/40/18's. I switched to 215/35/18 tires and no rubbing anymore, but the wheels you want are .5" wider than mine so.... i'm not so sure. Those are nice wheels by the way. I hope you can get them to work.

well i never sat anyone in the back while I had the 225/40's on, but it rubbed even with just me in there. I even took out my sub to see if that made a difference. It helped, but it was still pretty bad. I only drove on those tires for about 30 miles before I couldn't stand it anymore. 30 miles was still enough to cut a circular groove around the outer wall of the tires though!

Well crap, i'm worried now. I already let the order go through, but they (discount tire) are letting me test out the rims and see if they rub or not. Free of no charge if i want to return them.

Can you tell me what the downfall of having a wider rim would be versus a 7.5 width? I haven't look at wheels larger than 7.5, but I just bought some 8.5s.. lol

8.5 isnt too wide. i've seen 9.5 fit in the rear without fender modifications.

if you get those 18x8 +40 with 235/40. you'll stick out an extra 15mm than if you had stock 17s

42 offset will deffinately rub. 40 offset in 8.5 width will have some problems.. I suggest getting 5mm spacers for the rear and front to help out.. 35 is a really good offset for our rides. 38 is pretty good. I will be getting a set of the G-games 18x8 in or around that offset in gold. These will be my regular rims and my show rims will be the Work VS-XX (XG) in 18x8... Where did you get your deal on the G-games??? Right now there is a wait on them, since they have to be ordered from Japan... 6-8 weeks wait time, and them a wiat time for delivery through customs. so 1-3 months. Make sure you ask them about the time frame....

I refused the rims when they arrived at my house, i had a chat with a fellow scionlifer that had the same setup i had ordered. She said it rubbed like crazy on her stechs. So now Im on a 45-60day wait on some gunmetal or gold.. I'm trying to decide again. I got them at discount tire direct with a discount cuz they promised me the 77w 1 peice in one week and couldn't fufill it.
