I'm not sure which size to go with. 235 will be wider and protect the rim more, but 225 will fill up the wheel well slightly and raise the car, which could be helpful here where the roads are bad. Anyone have pics of either?

245/40/17 are too wide, right?

 

245/40/17 would be great. I'm rolling on 225/45/17 with a +35 offset...

What rim width are those 2fast4you?

How flush do they sit?
How much do the springs you have drop it?
Do they rub at all?
Looks like moving to a 245/40 wouldn't change the sidewall much right?

 

They are coilovers, but they are set -1.75 front, -1.5 back (the left front is siting on a wheel stand, so the gap is larger than it would be sitting on the tire.)

Only on big bumps at high speed (thanks to a +35 offset)

IIRC 245/40/17 is the closest match to stock diameter for an aftermarket tire.

 

Yes, out of those 3 245/40 is the closet diameter to stock, but I wonder how crazy they will rub. I have a +35 offset too and a tire shop I called today said 245 won't fit on our cars, although I'm skeptical since he said even 235 was too much and I know that fits.

 

I wish there was a program out there that one could enter the rim and tire and get a good idea of how it looks on the rim.

Yeah, 235 is about as wide as you would want to go with +35 offset, 245 will rub like crazy unless you go with a +40 or higher offset... +45 to +48 would be perfect for 245.

 

OK, maybe I'll just go with 225 to fill up the wheel well a bit more.

on the wheel you have, (which i want to say once again i was literally going to pick up the next day, but you bought them ) you will not be able to fit a 245, if i were you, i would go with a 235/40, its about an .8% difference from stock, which isnt much, and i like it because the speedo will be going faster than you are actually going which is better i think for ticket purposes, however i am not sure if that would make your odometer go faster as well ?



however, i just ordered a set of 5zigen FN01R-C in 17x8 with a +35 offset, and i am going to be running 235/40 falken fk452 tires.

i find it to be the best size for what i plan to do with the car.

 

I didn't know so many people other people wanted those wheels. Someone PMed me asking to buy them!

 

 

the only reason i was hesitant to buy them was becuase of the curb rash, thats what took me a little while to make my decision.

 

They redid all the lips for me so they're brand new. The faces of the wheels are in ok condition, nowhere near perfect, but I can't expect much with their age.

congrats on the wheels, but to the original question, i would go with a 235/40, i am going to pick up my new rims on monday most likely, and they are the same specs, 17x8 +35 and i am going with a 235
