You would be tucked...umm...like ALOT! The stock wheels are 42 so your tucking 6mm more to the inside.

Those wheels are half an inch wider though. It would be fine.

the rims are wider than stock. but still tucked in cause the aftermarket rims u want are 48mm and stock is 42mm. the lower the offset the more "flushed" it will be with the fender. try looking for some thats 42mm offset or less.

Offset is the distance in millimeters that the mounting point on the wheel is from the center of the wheel. So when the width of the wheel changes, you can see how the offset would change, since the center is moving.

)--|----(

Really bad example. The parentheses are the sides of the rim, the line indicates where the hub (mounting point).

I was mistaken though, Andrew was right. 48 is going to be tucked in. My wheels were 18x7.5, with a 40 offset. They fit perfect.

Yeah, but yours are 8" wide so you have more width to push to the fender.

I had +48 18x7.5's (I ordered +42 offset and got 48, just used them anyway.)

They didn't look too different from stock, but I think I was rubbing on wheel lock with 225/40/18's.

Either way, they looked tucked in... go with lower offset.

Ive got a 18x8 35offset with the Hotchkis drop [1.7 - 2.0]
tires - 225/40

and yes, you are going to rub in the front unless you roll your fenders, but just a little.

however, the rim is just about perfectly flush with the body and does look awesome.

If you are going to drop your car any lower than Hotchkis, be prepared for some serious rubbing

i've got 18x7.5 with offset of 42 wrapped with 225/40 on a 2" drop. no rubbing what so ever. it gives me a more aggresive look and keeping it practical.

if someone could help me out here just so i understand.... would adding spacers to the 18x7.5 +48 bring out the wheel a bit so it looks a little more flush?
and if so, does anyone know a good size for the spacer to work with a trd drop.

thanks

Ever thought of getting a set of 215s and being stretched up front? How does the rear look with a 35 offset? Does it sit flush or tuck?

so in support with what zebman said
i believe stock is 17x7 +45mm

that means at 18x7.5 +48, you will be .5 inch wider (12.7mm) but tucked in +3mm more, so technically your new wheels would stick out about 9.7mm from stock position.

Now i'm not sure this is 100% correct because if the rim is wider, it could extend inward too right? if that is the case, then with the same calculations it will stick out 3.35mm from stock.

let me know if this is right, cause i'm putting on 18x7.5 +48mm also.
