those are one of the reasons SSR filed bankruptcy - they're alright, I've seen them in person and drove in a car with them on and I can't say anything bad about them. They're cast and they weigh a lot, about 19lbs for a 17x8" wheel, and 21-22 for a 18x8. If you like em, go for it. a 17x8 +48mm should fit with a nice set of 245's just fine.

I have them and
them! I get lots of compliments on them. The Hyper Black color is scorchin'! Sometimes they look silver. Sometimes they look grey. One thing about the cap: its not silver. Its CF! My car is a daily driver, so weight isn't really an issue with me. If you get them, definitely get 18s! They look hawt!!

semaJames is right. That's where I picked mine up at. They were a little cheaper a year ago. I have nothing but praise for Discounttiredirect.com/America's Tire Co! Free tire replacements! (With certificates.) Free rotations! And lastly, Free Shipping!!! BTW-That's my car in the pic. So I won't post another on how they look on a tC. Unless you want me too!
Sorry for the rather large pics!

depends on the rim, but most of the time you have to make a compromise between price (sometimes extravagant) and durability. I for example have SSR Competitions, 18x8 wrapped in goodyear eagle F1 GSD3's - The wheels weigh 14.1lbs each (my digital scale accurate to 0.5%) and tires weigh 19lbs each, so that is close to 10lbs of weight saved compared to stock (If I remeber correctly) I'd've gone wider on the tires but they rub slightly as it is (working on it)
My wheels are considered semi-expensive (3x those 5zigens) and because of how they're made, pretty durable but won't withstand any curb hits head on... AMHIK. You can get uber-expensive magnesium-alloy forged wheels, but those are close to $1500-2000 a wheel(no joke, by BBS and Volk and others) and weigh about 11-13lbs for an 18" and are for track use only because of their durability.
The weight at the wheels affects everything, turn-in, cornering, braking, acceleration, gas mileage, and with better tires, just about everything is improved dramatically over stock. It's the most noticeable mod I've done to my car and probably ever will do unless I go FI. But SSR's are discontinued because of how hard it is to make them and the small market for them, so I wouldn't purchase them unless you can get your hands on an extra wheel or two just in case... AMHIK.
If I were you and I liked those 5zigens (which I do) I would buy a set of 17x8.5 +45mm or +48mm 5x100 wheels and put 245/40/17 size tires and have a smile on my face all day because of the night and day handling difference, regardless of the weight. And it will fit without rubbing.
