you would need to know the exact offset if you wanted to run a true staggered, but it can be done.
The only down side to a true stagger set up IMHO is that you cannot rotate your tires.. but I do like the wider lip in the rear, that is why I got what I got.

honestly you are trying to make something fit that is not supposed to fit, so you are going to run into alot of fittiment issues with various rims, its not that it cant be done, it is more that its not nessacary to run a 10.5 in the rear of FWD car, but if you really want to make it happen, and are willing to spend the coin, contact axis direct, or someone who sells rims to see if they will let you test fit rims to see if they will fit. Nobody here has that size of a rear rim, so you are not going to get alot of actual information, other then what you have already recived.
also ifyou have the money, try looking at forged multi peic rims, like HRE, or Jline, they can make the rim to fit.....without it looking stupid.

Just to give you some ideas since you mentioned the Axis Hiro's
I am running 19x8.5 all around.
This guy here has the staggered fitment, I believe he has 8.5's in the front and 9.5's in the rear.. ( hope you dont mind me using your pics
