No offense, but I thought WedSports were always attractive because they were light. These 17's weigh over 20lbs according to TireRack. My 18's only weigh a fraction of a pound more. What gives?

Haha I don't doubt that as I bought cheap rims and regret it. Now the g/f gives me crap when I say I want new rims "cause I already have rims". lol Oh well.

I guess it's brand reputation, popularity, looks, etc. I wouldn't choose them for performance when you can get lighter wheels for less $, but light weight doesn't appear to be a priority for those who purchase these.

^ that really shouldnt be the case because not many people have these wheels to begin with considering there discontinued

its not popularity>performance
its quality>crap

jus bc u have a light wheel doesnt make it "performance" friendly it jus means u bought a cheap wheel that weigh 7 lbs but will also crack on u when the right pot hole comes by.

quality>crap

^^^

how are they so heavy??? lol ... 17lbs is a good weight for a forged 17" wheel.

FYI these wheels weight just shy of 17lbs... infact 16.6 if you wana get techincal... i know.. I OWN A SET OF THESE....

and to be honest.. thats a fkn fantastic deal... about 500 shy of what they are retailed at!!!! which is rougthly 1200 new for 17s...

i know there are a few 5x100 sets floating around the USA.. roughly under 100 where made.

i would never sell mines for that cheap.. thats just ridiculous cheap!... and now that they have been discontinued.. the price has sky rocketed for these... ive seen them sold used for about 1200 on average on the suby and other forums...

They're heavy IF they weigh >20 pounds, which is what Twilight2ner stated he saw listed at TireRack.

However, IF they're only 17 pounds as you say, then I'd agree the weight is good.

This is what happens when different people provide different specs.

I'd trust Pete. 1. because he has them; and 2. because I'm sure he weighed them HIMSELF.
