the difference you'll notice is a MPG difference, since the 225 is slightly heavier and wider than the 215's. The 225's weigh 22.7lbs, the 215's (proxes4) weigh 21.6lbs.i think maybe a 1-2mpg difference between the two. I'm hitting 27 mpg with my 215's.

so those with 225's could post their mpg's..

but GOOD choice on the proxes4's!

How do the 215's handle compared to stock? Also - would you get higher tread w/ the 225's or wider tread ...or is just the rim larger?

I choose the 225s for several reasons:

1) Protects the rim a bit better
2) Slightly better handling
3) More rubber on the ground
4) I think it looks better haha
5) My tire place told me to go with 225s (same price on both)

The downside is that the odo and speedo will be slightly off. This is why it affects mpg. It will appear that you are loosing gas mileage, but in reality, it is just that you have travelled slightly farther than it shows. Based on my calcs, when I got 24mpg, it is actually around 24.7 mpg. The odo being off also happens to work in our favor. Over the life of the car, it will read a couple of miles less - hey why not! Extend my warranty! lol

Jwaggz are you going with edge? I'm in the exact same boat you are, but I heard some sketchy stories about edge (a few on this forum). Damn good prices though, I'm going to see if I can get some local vendors to pricematch or come down closer.

Ummm... yeah, I'd rather have an accurate reading of my miles, thank you. How would you feel if you never knew your actual age?

Really tho, the accuracy of the meters is the only reason I don't want the 225s... if that could be fixed, I would cop in a heartbeat.

its all personal preference, it doesn't bother me and the resale value will be slightly higher with less mileage, however minor it may be. anyway, so very easy math can tell me the exact number without a problem. after all, it is a fixed ratio! CAKE!

Edge seems to be hit or miss. When people have had problems their customer service seems to be extremely lousy. And they can sometimes take up to a month to ship. Check out these posts:

I myself am very tempted to just order from them but I'm going to see if I can get anyone to pricematch. I doubt they'll go that low but I'd have to get the tires mounted and balanced anyway so it might even out.

would it be bad to run 225s in the front and 215s in the back? I know this is stupid but I only need 2 new tires before I hit the track... of course I plan on replacing the 215s later with 225s, but I was just wondering, will it throw anything off? such as handling, accelerating...

Yes, that would be bad. You have to match front and rear tires to the 'T'. Having different handling and traction capabilities in the front/rear or side/side is never a good thing. This is why you can't do 2 snow tires and 2 all-seasons in the winter. If the snows are in the front, the front of the car may have traction in the snow, but the 2 rears are going to be fishtailing out to God knows where. Now in your case, you would have 2 different tires on the car and in 2 different sizes. This is a real mess (unless the fronts and rears would be the same tire). Is it a big deal? No. But I wouldn't do it. Seeing that you are supercharged, performance is clearly on your list of priority.

Believe me, I'm all for saving money... but at the expense of another? (in this case, the buyer)

Sounds like a great way to kill your karma.
