We came across this product a few months ago and it is absolutely amazing. We call it god's gift to STI owners: P21S Wheel Cleaner. Brake dust is a thing of the past. Just spray it on those dirty BBS wheels before you wet them down, let the liquid or gel sit, and use high pressure water to rinse it off. Your wheels will look even better than they did when you picked them up from the dealership. This wheel cleaner is not abrasive and works very well. We got ours from Performanceproducts.com. Try a search on google for other suppliers but they guarantee the lowest price.
We recommend getting the 1 gallon or 1 liter refill because this stuff is not cheap (but neither are your BBS wheels) and it is cheaper in bulk. The small 16.9 fluid oz bottle with 500mL will last a good 1-3 months, which depends on how often you drive your car and wheels require washing. More importantly, if you are busy like us, then you may not get to wash your car as often as you like. In the past, you might worry that the caked on brake dust will damage the wheels if you did not wash your car. With this product, it takes less than fifteen minutes in the morning or when you return home to clean it off so no harm is caused to your precious wheels. Sorry this sounds like an ad but that is how great this stuff is. And no we are not affiliated with any vendor that sells this product or the maker itself.
There are two kinds the liquid and the gel. The liquid works very well, but we have been told that the gel is just a high concentrate of the liquid. So we dilute the 1 litre refill 1 part P21S and 1 part water and that seems to work very well. The gel works by leaving it on for a prolonged period of time. We have included pictures below with the instruction label. We hope this was useful.

P21S is a good product, but it comes down to what 'type' of a wheel the person has. P21s can actually damage the wheel or sometimes doesn't work on baked brake dust. I've used numerous wheel cleaning products and even house detergents, but some dusts are just impossible to take off unless you sand it down and repolish them. But good post!
