What are the best 17" racing wheels under $1000? The same question now but with 18" wheels and under $1200?

 

18s and racing don't really mix unless you're talking RWD and 9in wide with some POWAH.


as for 17, the only lightweight 17x8s I know of under a grand would be the 5Zigen FN01R-C's. They weigh in at <17lbs if I remember right.

If he's actually talking about racing, he doesn't want a cast wheel. And I've heard guesses on the weight of the FN01R-C up to 23lbs. RPF1 a good choice, as would be Motegi Trak Lite-- but both are pushing the limit on cost.

If he really doesn't need forged, then the MB Weapon a good pick, ~17lbs in 17x8 for $135 a wheel.

 

Those are 19lbs. The MB ones.

 

My FK451 + 17x8 Weapon combo weighs 41lbs; taking into account Falken's 23.5lb posted weight of the tire, that puts the Weapon at 17.5lbs, give or take.

Of course, even if it was two pounds heavier, I'd make that trade for 30mm wider treadblock.

 

Some bang for the buck kinda rims are 5zigen Fn01r ..

 

ENKEI RPF1's will do it for you...

17x8 +35 = 15.6lbs and they will fit your budget...

those are weights wheels alone...

Tires, it really depends on the tires you go with and the sizes... tires in 17" could be anywhere from 25-35 lbs...

that is for tire alone... not including weight of the wheel / air... heh

 

I like my Konig Next wheels. They are 17x7 but with 225's they are plenty wide and handle awesome. For the money, the weight is very low. Sorry for the large picture.

I think I'm going with these 5Zigen, found a deal around that these 17x8 with Falken Azenis RT-615... 1,189.00

 

How many pounds per wheel and tire on those? What deal?

 

They are 17lbs. per wheel, in difference on the stock ones, which I think are 24lbs. per e/a. Tire, I don't know really. Sorry.
