i feel it does but it could all be mental becosue around the same time i got the tires i started drag racing alot so i got alot better at launching

not sure if it realy helped but i can launch at 3k rpms with just the right amount of wheel spin to get 60 foot times in the 2.1's

if I try to launch at anything over 2,000RPMs (dropping or slipping the clutch) I will get ALOT of wheel spin with the stock tires.. so being able to launch at 3,000 is a huge improvement..

did you drop the pressure in them at all when you goto the track?

yep and i think that is where the improvment was the softer sidewalls and the roughly 15-12 psi helped alot with launch's

and before you say im going to mess up my tires i took them off after each day at the strip and they were fine

I had an srt-4 for a while there... The KDW-2's had really good dry traction. they held traction from a 250 whp/280 wtq setup launch on the street with ease. wet traction was average. road noise wasnt a big deal, the exhaust was louder anyways.

wow, that is really low.. would you make the tire pressure that low on the stock tires also? I only dropped mine to 25psi last time I was at the track.

Those KDWs know how to grip, stick, and burn, very very well.... I would highly recomend them, I know of a few of ole` track junkies who say they're great tires...

it seems like everyone around here wants about $20-25 per tire to mount them.. what are they charging you? I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.

I'm getting it done at the dealer and they're at $12.50 per tire. So about $50+taxes. I figured it was a good price and took it.

Another place around here just did my g/fs new wheels and they were at about $18 per tire.

even though you didn't purchase the tires at the dealership they still mounted them for you? $12.50 per tire is a really good deal..

They haven't been done yet, but ya, they don't care at all. It's work for them and they get money.

I'm also having alignment and inspection done at the same time, so I'm expecting almost $200.

I absolutely love them, and as far as road noise... I dont hear them over the S/C and exhaust.. soo I would DEFINATELY suggest the KDW2s... 1000000 times better than stock...

so.. one of my friend ordered some of these tires awhile ago, he currently has them at his house, and I believe he will be purchasing a new car next week so it probably won't need these tires..

He has a '03 GTI vr6, it has 225-45-17's on it..

I've heard different answers for this question, so how much will it really mess up my speedometer?

also, is there any other problems I may run into from running a bigger tire?

You can use a tire size calculator at 1010tires.com , or you can do a search for tire calculator on google, the Miata webpage has a nice one.

Originally I thought the bigger size would throw it way off, as I had put the wheels/tires I have on my Z26 onto the tC for a few weeks and got pulled over for speeding. I was clocked 5mph over what I thought I was going, hence thinking it was the tires throwing me off (I was running 225/45/17's at the time).

In reality, that tire size will only throw off the speedo about 1mph at 60. You will actually be going 59mph when your speedo says 60.

Ok, great.. 1 or 2 mph isn't a problem at all..

Thanks for the reply.
