I was thinking about powder coating my stock scion rims black. Would this look good or is it a waste of time. The way I see it is it's cheaper and i lke my rims that i have now. Also, does anybody know where I could get this done and how much it would cost. Thanks

 

I don't like the look of our wheels all black. Just not my style.

But for getting it done, your best bet is the phone book. I've heard between $25-$35 per wheel.

 

Someone had a nice powercoating job with black spokes and the stock colored "lip". It looked really nice.

 

^^ Usually that's not possible. The way powder coating works - it's all or nothing. It was probably painted. But I think if anything, you need some sort of lip. All black just doesn't cut it. Need something to break up the line of the wheel and tire, IMO.

i'm confused... on black chrome will it EVER look black in shade or anything, cause all pics i see it just looks like shiny gunmetal , it's still really nice though

I dont think anyone can powerCOAT, let alone in black chrome. Actually, maybe Mr. T could do it for you. LOL

I thought about P/C'ing my rims only b/c one go hit by a car in the parking lot, nice huh? I'm thinking about getting the spokes painted the same color as my car FM, but no sure how that would look or even if it could be done with the rims I have.
Anyways post pic if you get them P/C'd I wanna see them or whatever you end up doing.
