Im thinking about painting my stockies soon enough, but i can't decide what color would look the best..bronze or black stockies?
I have an 08 tc with 05-07 tail lights, black vrd grills, trd drop (gonna be stech drop soon) and might be looking to get some vrd fogs maybe...but this is just for a somewhat visual reference..
any thoughts
?
pics are welcome

Rust-o-leum flat black (from any hardware store...
Duplicolor gold accent and trim paint (from any major auto parts store)...
Duplicolor Wheel Coating paint in clear (again from the auot parts store)...
The trick for me was taking my time... it took about an hour PER WHEEL for cleaning and scuffing with Scotch-brite pads (instead of sanding)... a day to paint the three layers of gold first and letting it cure overnight.
Then on the next day... another hour per wheel for masking... then another hour per wheel painting three coats of the flat black... then removing the masking before letting the black cure...
Then on the last day four coats of clear to give it the shine and some durability. If I'm ever planning on a glossy finish, I don't bother with gloss paints, the clearcoat does the job very well. I've seen others mention that the DupliColor clear comes out like a milky white which is true if you spray it on too thick... so light coats are key!!!
Overall, it took the better part of a three day weekend, but worth every minute!!!
