Default Can anyone help out with wheels and tires for performance?

Iam intersted in the best wheels and tires for street riding and cornering and maybe an occasional autox session, Iam not into autox enough to have a separate set of wheels and tires.

What I found what seems to be good is this:
http://www.gruppe-s.com/Weds/SA-90C.htm

However some question are is the bigger the width the better? Which one of those wheels would fit with a 1.5" drop? is having 16X8 over 17X8 have any perfromance benefit over the other or is it just cometic. Will the 17X9 fit our car? and would that give you the best grip?

17x8 +42mm offset running a 235/40/17 tire. grip? oh yeah :D shouldnt rub either. The only downside is that the wheel won't be flush with fender because of the offset. This helps prevent rubbing though, take your pick.

try to get the 17x8 +35 offset. would look better.

i have the TC-005 Weds Sports. Weds sports are underrated. they are just as good as Volk and Work in my opinion, they just dont make that many wheels.

tire-wise, go with the hankook RS212 it's an awesome deal, and a very good autoX tire as well.. honestly tho dude, if you're gonna autoX just use your stock wheels and buy some REAL tires for em

I'm in the same boat as Typhoon, I am in need of advice for tires... I'm looking for a good set of tires, I already have a set of rims to put on on days that I wanna drive hard, but to match it I need the performance tire... I've looked up and down tirerack.com and each individual manu. site... for some reason the tire that got best reviews on tire rack was one by General Tire Exclaim UHP <-- any one ever heard of that one?, maybe it was because of the price IDK, I just need help choosing tires specifically for cornering, dry traction, and ride quality, im willing to sacrifice ride quality and smoothness for handling and traction, please help me guys lol

hankook rs212
falken azenis rt-615

two awesome tires.

and actually, a very good tire is Fuzion ZRI.. i did not think i'd like them, and actually went into the purchase expecting the worse, but they have provided an awesome mix of cornering stability and decent treadwear. highly recommended from me, a true tire *****. it's one of the best street tires i've had.

I have driven the General Exclaim UHP's for a about 300 miles and I can say they kick ___. It has rained non stop for the past few days and I don't have to drive any different then I would on a sunny day.
