Default Choosing wheels is the hardest thing ever.

I have an FM tc lowered on TRD's and I'm in the market for a new set of rims. I've been trying to decide on what to get for 2 full months, and as of now, I've narrowed it down this far: I'm getting 18's.

It is soooooo hard to decide.

gunmetal with polished lip or silver?

5 or 6 spoke or mesh?

so many options. argh.

I'm literally getting overwhelmed trying to make up my mind.

How long did it take you guys to choose? What helped you make your final choice?

Easily, What I did was go thrue the pics section here and you choose the style of rims you like on your car, meaning 5 spoke, 6 spoke, 100 spokes, Tripple Gold D's, LoL You know!

Then You see what color theme your going with your car, are you trying to sit Pretty? Chrome!

Are you trying to keep it Clean and Pretty? Silver with Chrome! or Color and Chrome lips!

Are you racing or wanting to look the part? Solid Colors and colors that are not hard to clean up.

Then you have the style and color in mind and you go to a rim website or your local shop and you pick!

Hope that helps! LoL It shouldn't be too hard, i know looking at other cars is overwhelming but you have to think of what are their mods and if your going with body kits and all that.

It is possibly the hardest decision to make for your tC. It took me a full 9 months to decide what to get the first go around. Just keep going to sites. Eventually one will stand out above the rest. I thought you were going with the Motegi(?) FF7s? What happened? Those are some nice wheels!

there a bit pricey but take a look for the Axis Shine rims.Five spoke with a staggered chrome lip. These will give your car alot of attention. When it comes to your rims never go cheap, its the one thing that catches your eye on the outside of the car.

i decided against the ff7's because i decided i didn't want anything with a machined look. the tenzo dc6's, which look pretty similar, are still a possibility though. right now i'm leaning towards a set of mesh wheels. these are the forerunners at the moment:

but that can, and probably will change.

Tell me about it, I couldn't decide on rims the first time and I said "Ahhhhh, FUKIT", so I ordered my 19"Crosshairs, now 3 months later I'm looking into selling them so I can get wide 18's" But now I gotta decide on which 18's I want, $hits crazy.......

what color are your crosshairs and why are you wanting to get rid of them for 18's? are you rubbing? what's your setup? i've looked at the crosshairs and i may be interested in taking them off your hands at the right price, unless i'd rub.

now i've been looking at these koya lx5's. they're an obvious ripoff of the axis hiro's, but for 500 bucks less, i dunno.... but they weigh 24lbs a piece.

that hole in the middle of them looks weird too.

SIDENOTE: on the koya website, (http://www.koyaracing.com/wallpaper.htm)they use pictures of axis hiro's to display the lx5's. wtf? they don't even try to hide it. you can clearly see the axis engraving in several of the pictures, and a few of them are even gunmetal, which koya doesn't even make.

they even have a pic i've seen on here:

i KNOW those are hiro's. definitely makes me wary of buying these. and it makes me curious as to why they would do that. they apparently have humongous *****.[/url]

I bought the 5zigen sport engine's hyperblack - don't regret the decision one bit. but yeah I definitely know the stress of picking out wheels. It's a huge investment towards the ride and you don't want to turn around and regret what you picked 1 day, week, or month later. I went with mesh because I wanted a different look from stock and 18's i gotta say a must.

that's exactly what i'm all but certain i'm going to get 5zigen sport engine 18's in hyper black.

what color is your tc nole? got any pics? i've seen plenty of tc's with sport engine's on them, but i can't seem to find a picture of them in hyper black on an FM tc.

I have a black sand pearl - '05 so by now being in the sun the paint has kinda faded into flint mica - lol...naw but I'll take a couple quick pics tomm. so you can get an idea of what it looks like. At first I was worried about 'hyperblack' being too dark but it just means the inside of the rim is coated black so it doesn't reflect the brake pads.

awesome man. i'd love to see it. i found one picture of an FM with hyper black sport engines but it was from an angle that didn't give me a very good idea of what it looks like. i'd really like to see it from the side, far enough away to have the whole car in the frame. that's the money shot i've been looking for. i'll be watching.

the best way i found was going through all the color threads...the bsp cult..fm...sw..and so on then at the i lowered my car threads because people usually have good side pics and a lot of them have wheels on them..then check out the show me your wheels thread..then go to a site like superbuytires.com and you can choose your car so you see what fits...you can choose what finish the rims have, what size, what price range. it's going to take a lot of time but it allowed me to choose which wheels look the best. good luck to you!

Here's my pics - I guarantee they're gonna look lovely with your TRD drop - I refuse to drop mine cause I weekly switch out rides w/ my girl's X3 and she already has the bottom of the front bumper looking like a cheese grater Whatever you finally pick don't forget the wheel locks - consider it a luxury tax 'cause it makes no sense dropping $1,000+ on rims and leaving them naked for takers.

And of course if you don't have one already - get yourself one of these cause your gonna want to do alot of driving with your new shoes
