Continental ExtremeContact DWS
Anyone have these on their tCs? I am located in NY so I am looking for an all season tire that is pretty good in the rain and snow along with dry conditions. I spoke with Tirerack and did research on them on the Tirerack website and they are the #1 rated tire in the ultra high preformance all season category. I also read some reviews as well.
Also I wanted to know if I should go with a 215 or a 225 width tire. I know in winter you want a thinner tire and in dry u want a wider tire. These tires are supposed to be pretty good in the snow already so I was wondering if I went with a 225 tire when it is dry here with the hit and miss NY winters I would then be able to sacrifice less with a wider tire. I know the stock tire size is 215/45/17. Since I don't have a separate set of wheels and tires I was wondering if going with the 215 or 225 was better. I don't know if the 11 bucks more a tire ($44) is worth it to go with the 225s. I am running the stock wheels.
More importantly I was just trying to hear from people that have this tire on their tC and hear their opinions and reviews on them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If they are in stock, I would jump on them. We wanted those tires for awhile but they were always out of stock or on back order. Tirerack is the only way to go. They have good service and fast shipping. What I love most about Tirerack is that they provide current tires and the old tires.
We ended up going with Michelin Pro Pilot A/S. These tires are phenomenal and are great in the rain. Can't say much about snow since we havent seen any as of yet.
215/45/17 is what you should go for on stocks.

I had my buddies stockies on my car for a while and these are the tires he had. I recommend them, really nice tire! Good dry and wet traction and I was actually surprised that they were also really good in snow(for an all season).
i have these on my 2009 xb. i literally just put them on a week ago. I was also debating on this tire for a long time. after a week, i really do like them a lot. i agree that the sidewall is soft, but the ride is so much quieter now. and after the amount of snow that we got in MD last year, i def want something that can handle the snow better. i recommend them
225/45/17 for the ones im running

i got 2 of DWS put on my front wheels yesterday. It gave my car very nice ride. I got them becuase my 2 Yokohama AVID H4S have no traction in the snow at all.
DWS got very high rating in the snow for ALL Season Tire by TireRack.com
I am running 2 Yokohama AVID H4S at the rear and DWS for the front. I hope this is good enough for the winter . (I am too poor to buy 4 new tires.)
