Falken or BF Goodrich?
Shoping for new tires cus i almost died on I95 south last night in CT (i HATE that state) cus they dont know how to plow their friggen highways

so here are my 2 top choices. lookin to spend AROUND 100$ for each tire and the falkens are 87 a piece (for 225/45/17) and the BFG are 130 (same size).
reason why im goin 225/45/17 is because i have no idea
just wanted to go 1 more size up then stock i guess. a buddy of mine did that with his tC and said it was so much better....
Falken
Ziex ZE-512

or
BF Goodrich
g-Force T/A KDW NT

any opinions? different tires? (i have the stock Bridgestones that are BALD... as in NO tread what so ever
so anything is better then those. [/u]

But they probably wouldn't be so good in this:

(that tread is Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 in 195/65/HR15 on steelies; those are staying on until the snow, the mud, and the potholes start disappearing; probably mid-April)
forget....g'forces got nothin in the snow. i have em on my car. kuhmo asx's may run the same price? also...when you go up a width like you did to 225....you're gonna lose some snow traction....if you really care about the snow then stay at 215. if you want performance for the summer then 225. lastly, toyo proxes 4's are the best tires ever made and they're all season. think about it. they're worth it.
G-force AND THEN a set of snow tires for the winter
NO all-season tire will perform UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES as good as a dedicated tire. period.
Oh, and "Toyo Proxes 4 are the best tires ever made" is not only the biggest overstatement, but WAY opinionated. Best at what? everything? Really? So they stick in the dry better than an R-compound slick, and stick better in the snow than a studded chained tire? REALLY?? MAN I GOTTA GET ME A SET OF THOSE
The Proxes have a softer sidewall than the competition and are unpredictable at the limit of handling, I'd call them decent all-seasons, but again, they're ALL-SEASONS - so they're already a step down from other options.
If you're really all that lazy to not be able to swap your wheels twice a year (or don't have enough money to buy 2 sets of tires) then go with the all-seasons, but you are making compromises.
I don't compromise when it comes to tires.
