why so much primer and paint? and theres no need for tape. you use index cards they work much better and save time from taping the tires. for paint and primer all you need is 2 cans each and for the paint you should get wheel paint becaseu wheel paint is better and doesnt chip as easy.and i would get like 3 cans of clear coat becuase its just better.
4 cans? Jeez you only need 2 of each as someone stated. The process is rather simple and not as hard as people say, if you can spray paint some rims then you fail at life, just index card the wheel, sand a little bit and have fun painting. Clearcoat may give you a shine but I didnt put any clearcoat on my painted super sevens and they have no shine to them at all. I put like 3 heavy layers and its holding up fine.

well there's diff types of clear coats. i know mine was non-gloss from when i spray painted the little chrome trim around the front upper grill flat black...though i probably should redo it now, rock chips owned it up

these are the paints
the clear coat says on the back that it will leave a glassy finish, but if the color is flat black then will it look flat with a shine?
i just dont want it to look like cheap spray black

just don't put on a clear.. lol
anytime it chips.. spray a little primer and voila..
just messin...
you should be fine.. test out your clear coat first.. spray some black and spray the clear over it.. just find a piece of metal in your garage or something...

wouldn't the acrylic lacquer bubble/messed up the black paint since its not acrylic?...bec. when i was painting i used regular black paint and i used acrylic lacquer clear and the paint bubbled?
Sorry, by regular I meant the wheel paint not primer.
I got 3 nice smooth coats out of 1.5 cans. I did 3 coats of black
1 coat of primer.
I didn't clear, and it hasn't chipped off in the 2 weeks i've had them on (3 painted) but if it does, ill repaint and clear.
