I own an FM and I want to get my stockies painted. I was leaning for Anthracite.

Not silver, not black, not bronze, not gold...

So the question is:
Should I leave the "lip" stock, hence gunmetal
Or paint the entire rim anthracite?

If you have pics of an FM with similar colors or with rims with a machined lip show them.

Hrm... if it was me, I'd paint the whole wheel.
The stock tC alloys don't really have a 'lip' per se, so I'd avoid making a faux-lip.

 

I seem to keep changing my mind every 5 minutes lol!

 

Also, the colors are similar... if you're wanting a lip, you should consider a color that will stand out more.

 

I picked anthracite, but it would probably be better if you could polish the lip too. Just my $.02

 

anthracite + stock steelish color lip...i think it would look good IMO

 

I like it because it wouldn't stick out too much. If the difference is too clear/noticeable I wouldn't like it ;)

Not a fan of two tone rims personally, I'd like to see nickel rims, or nickel plate. Do they have those?

i have a FM tC just like Claudia and im going with all black Konig Feathers on mine so both paint choices would look good

 

the stockers don't have a lip to begin with so trying to add a lip would look funny IMO. i voted for full anthracite

eh not my cup of tea but if you like it, go for it. after all, you're the one that sees it everyday and has to live with it

 

C. do a full wheel instead of a lip it will look much cleaner!

 

Yea, that's not bad, but I think it'd look funny since the colors are so similar. If you were to polish the 'lip' then you might be onto something... otherwise, it'd be way cleaner to do the whole thing.
