Gen 2 wheels on Gen 1 tC?

Gen 2 wheels on Gen 1 tC?
I was wondering if anyone has run 18" wheels from a 2011 tC on a Gen 1 like a 2006.
Seems to be the same size as the TRD wheel with only a slight difference in offset.

Not to mention, unless you are just cheap, why would you go through the trouble to run an adapter to just run the 2nd gen tC wheels. 1st Gen is 5x100 bolt pattern. 2nd is the more popular 5x114.
